This new full-size Toyota Tundra, manufactured in America, hits the showrooms in February. The Big 3 cannot be too happy watching this threatening in the rear-view mirror. My Toyota stock is trending well ...
That's exactly what they said when the first Tundra came out. Realistically, it made little impact.
Of course, you're stupid if you don't take your competition seriously.
The first Tundra was under-sized, and thus missed the market. Toyota is not one to miss it's lessons. This truck is designed and built in America to go head to head with the full-size truck market. It has got gotten the attention of Ford, GM, and Dodge -- reps of all 3 were on hand for a recent unveiling of the new Tundra at the Texas State Fair (one of two American mfg plants for the Tundra is a ground-up new one in San Antonio).
I predict that Toyota got it right this time, and this new Tundra will make a successful beginning into the full-size truck market, but I'm only making an educated guess ...
I know why the company went with Ford (for your reason). They did have a vehicles in the repair shop at any given time but I'm sure accounting had factored that in. It was just annoying for those of us who had to wonder if the thing would start etc. when we needed it.
I'm actually not too much of brand loyal person, but with cars, I've just had too many bad experiences with Ford to even consider them, for now.
Oh, also, the company has been buying Toyota lately.
What city?
" reps of all 3 were on hand for a recent unveiling of the new Tundra at the Texas State Fair"
FYI, the new Ford Super Duty was also unveiled at the Texas State Fair. Obviously Ford and Toyota would be there, as both were introducing new models. GM and DCX would be idiotic not to have reps check out the new models of their competitors, especially with TWO being introduced at the same place and time...
