Reposting a post I put on a couple of threads over the weekend:

Here's a little more info. Found this site earlier today.
Click on the link below if you want to see specifics about each Congresscritter (each of their names is linked on the site)

Congressional Scorecard

The 21st Century may be the century of graft and corruption for the Republican Party, but it has a long way to go to catch up with the Democratic BadBoys from the 20th and 19th Centuries.

Who's ahead--Democrats or Republicans? The usual caricature is that Republicans are only interested in stealing money and Democrats are content with sex. Well, let's see. Here's the score card for Congressional Bad Boys. This represents the BadBoys since 1975, those that have their own page on this website (plus a couple more).

Looking at the House Ethics Committee historical list, you'll find that there were 68 Democrats and 34 Republicans, from 1856 through 2004 who were caught up in questionable activity. (Note, the list starts keeping tabs of Democrats versus Republicans in the mid 1850s, once the Republican party was formed. Click here to see beginning of the tally). So, from the House Ethics Committee historical list, the Democrats maintained a healthy two-to-one lead.

A number of the BadBoys listed here and throughout the website are on the House Ethics Committee list, but a surprising number never appeared there or in the Senate Ethics Committee (which does not have an online list). (But check out the punishments given to Senators and Representatives).

The numbers in the table below reflect BadBoys who are highlighted on this website, those who have gotten in trouble since 1975. A couple are mentioned twice, with the second mention in parentheses.

Although Kennedy deserves to be # 1, it should not be for the reason the article cited.

Don't forget, the Democrats National Convention where the Boy Scouts were booed during the US flag presentation.

But in all honesty, they could have been booing the flag, not the Boys Scout due to their refusal to have homosexual scout leaders.

One of the reasons we vote for 'Pubbies to get a better class of politicritter.

Interesting list, but what's this have to do with the upcoming election?

If the assertion is "Well, the Democrats have more of a history for sexual misconduct!", I don't believe that's going to play well to the voters. What Foley did was disgusting. I don't think we should dumb down our standards to the Dem's standards.

And let's consider that Hastert has NOT handled this well. Some of his statements leave a lot to be desired in regards to the Foley matter.

Yes. Openly gay men asking to babysit your sons on an overnight trip in the woods. Nothing to fear, even WITH the past track record of molestations in the boy scouts...

Cite examples of these bad statements.

This is a media hit. Nothing more.

Vote on the issues, like national security and impeachment. They are what Congress will be addressing in 2007 depending on which way the election goes.

We're not.

The Rats are using this incident to show "hypocrisy" in the GOP. We are showing the real hypocrisy at play.

And they missed this one. It was part major sex scandal but in the early 1960s, such things weren't talked about in public like they were later.

You also failed to point out that the Congress was controlled by Democrats in the cases where they failed to act.

Yeah, I've been wondering if it is known that all of these missives are authentic?

There's obviously a problem or Foley wouldn't have resigned, but as noted the tone is so different.

It would seem pretty easy to fake both emails and IMs, but closer scrutiny should be able to determine their validity.

Unfortunately, Democrats being hypocrites is not "hypocrisy." Its just standard operating procedure for the Democrat party..

'Pubbies covering up for a predatory congresscritter is hypocrisy.

But I don't really see a cover-up. I see guys mindin' their own business and avoiding a charge of gay-bashing (which is what would have happened if they gone after Foley).

Good call on Condidit and Chappaquiddick.

I keep thinking that the lamestream media will quiet this down or at least offer a disclaimer on the hoopla.

But NOOOO! They are running it straight like it is from a DNC press release.

EVEN Al Jazeera says: "Not everyone believes the Jews and the US Government was behind 9-11 but..." before starting a 2 hour special on the 9-11 conspiracy theories.

Admittedly, it must have hard to make up a list of top Dem congressional sex scandals, because some would have to be omitted for lack of space.

But I find it a bit strange that Chappaquiddick wasn't on the list. Maybe some might argue that it didn't involve sex, but perhaps the autopsy report on the victim's body (if an autopsy was ever done) would prove otherwise.
