Isn't that what the Demonrats did. Their vests exploded and they didn't do the damage they intended and may have just may have gotten a couple of people thinking about what Demonrats actually stand for which is nothing.

"...Rove's October Suprise is better than this. I can't tell you exactly but I heard it involves a) a trampoline, b) a bottle of vaseline, and c) a chicken."
Vaseline?
A chicken?
Then Slick Willy's got to be involved somehow!

A lot of people around here are gonna be wondering why this doesn't all go away tomorrow. What do you mean? Clearly this story will grow and grow and drag Democrats down to defeat in November! The fools!

" Foleygate is the Democrats' best shot at nationalizing this election."
I was thinking "Cornholegate" would be a better name for this contrived non-scandal.

Yep, looks like the dems did a little "domestic spying" of their own.
But of course not to go after terrorists (why that would be a horribly unjust thing to do) but rather to go after, what in their tiny little lunatic minds is a worse threat, republicans.

Can't this run in EVERY PAPER IN THE USA tomorrow morning and be the lead in on EVERY MORNING SHOW?!?
I would guess not.

Unfortunately with the elections being as tight as they already are, it just might, I may be crazy, work. Thanks a lot Foley.

Well .. I have to disagree this is the "worst" October surprise ever.
I think it's the best thing that could have happened. It's just more exposure of the true nature and agenda of the democrat party. They are the party of SMEAR .. not ideas.
I do not agree this will suppress the repub vote .. it's made me MADDER THAN I WAS ALREADY! And .. I know a lot of people who feel the same - and I'm part of the Christian right.

Oddly, this phony scandal has blown Woodward's phony scandal off the airwaves. How much you wanna bet DU will soon have a thread up saying Rove created the fake Foley scandal to get rid of a gay Republican and to push the "true" Woodward scandal off the headlines?

And you know what's the funniest part of all? They couldn't even wait until October to spring it?!There's a good reason for that. Absentee voting starts this week or next week. In Colorado, up to 60% of the ballots will be absentee. So there's a huge amount of voting going on RIGHT NOW. The election in most races will be effectively over in two weeks.
They timed the release perfectly. 30% of the vote will be in before this gets straightened out, if it gets straightened out.

The question that bothers me is this: Why do Republicans allow lispers to run for office in their name? Why do the Republicans allow RINOs to remain in the party? God, it is awful that we have no party to vote for!

I really agree with your post. On this thread and others people are hoping and wishing our October surprise will be Bin ladens head,(something good for our country) while the other side is busy fishing for dirt, to smear any or all Republicans with if they possibly can do it...........Our side doesn't think like they do.....though I have to admit to lately fantasizing. that a great October surprise for us would be finding out that Nancy Pelosi is really a man, or Harry Reid is...........Oh fill in the blank.I don't know............LOL!
To: M Kehoe
Now that sound like a winner!! This is the first article I've read that has followed the actual time-line of this incident. From what I understand, these emails were sent in 2003 and the IM are newer. (Am I right?) If my math is correct, this young man would now be 19, not quite a 21 years old, but much closer to the age of Monica Lewinsky.
For how long, and when, were the IM sent?
I don't like pedophiles any better than any other sane person, but I just couldn't imagine that Foley would be that legally stupid.
