WASHINGTON A member of Saddam Hussein's defense team predicts a bloodbath will follow should an Iraqi court order the execution of the former president.
Former U-S Attorney General Ramsey Clark says he fears that hanging Saddam and the others would ignite "catastrophic violence." He goes so far as to say it would lead to "the end of civilization as we know."
Clark -- part of Saddam's legal team -- says the former leader's Sunni Muslim tribe would be enraged over what they would consider a revenge killing by the Shiite-controlled and U-S-sponsored government.
Saddam and the other defendants, who include his vice president, are being tried for genocide in the deaths of Iraqi Kurds during the late 1980s.
O.K. So cut off his head, instead! :)

That decision is up to the Iraqi people. Not us. I doubt there will be much of an uproar.

Clark is supposed to be one of Saddam's lawyers but all the stories I read interviewing him have U.S. datelines on them. When was Clark last in Iraq? It seems he has spent much less time there since Saddam's lawyers and court officials came under the threat of physical violence. Flakey is not what you want in a lawyer. Clark has always been an outspoken, extremist citric of America and its values. He is from the old Bolshevik school. If I were Saddam, or any other defendant in any court, this twisted yo-yo is the last guy I would trust with my life.

I agree with Ramsey. Saddam should die of a "heart attack" from all that junk food he's been eating. Within the next couple of weeks. No autopsy required or desired.
The headline neglects to add that this "former Attorney General" is also on Saddam Hussein's defense team.

I agree..........after scum sucking pig Saddam is executed, the Iraqi people will be much more likely to finger the terrorists, and it will be a bloodbath for the terrorists as they are hunted down and killed...................
But, I think hanging or shooting is too good for Saddam.........I think they should fence off one end of a soccer field with razor wire, and build a 12 foot high platform behind the razor wire...........then, a few hundred Iraqi women should be allowed to assemble on the soccer field. Of course, they would have to pass through metal detectors to ensure that no weapons are carried in. Then, after the execution order is read, Saddam's shackles should be removed, then his blindfold removed, and then he should be heaved into the sea of angry women, (women who have lost sons, daughters, husbands, mothers, fathers, grandparents, and other relatives to Saddam's evil dictatorship) who can do with him as they see fit................
Then, Saddam's lawyers should be given 24 hours to get out of Iraq and never come back, or suffer a similar fate...............
The only word I care about is "DEAD". How it is accomplished matters not to me, but if I did it I'd do it slow and painfully.

I totally disagree. Hanging Saddam would stop the flow of money to the psychopaths.
Suggest they hang all his lawyers, too -- especially those from out of country.
So be it. The Iraqi's are killing each other by the truckload every day. The sooner they lose the taste for killing each other, the better off everyone will be.
Cold? Sure. I am beginning to wonder if these people are capable of living in the democracy we have given them the opportunity to create.
