NJ is a thugocracy. I will be moving out withing 5 years. This last Corslime tax orgy was it for me.

I am on a six-year plan myself. I will leave the Garden State on or about June 1, 2012. It makes some sense to spend money here to make money here. It doesn't make a lick of sense to stay here for a second if you are spending but not making.

Meanwhile, I was talking to yet another nice young couple that is moving to North Carolina, yesterday. They already have their house picked out, and their new neighbors on either side are from within 10 miles of their current house in Scotch Plains, New Jersey.

Will the last one out of New Jersey please turn out the lights.

Yep...PA or NH it will be. Better gun laws and lower taxes.

One nice thing is that it has forced me into an accelerated retirement plan. It will be good to be out on the golf course while I can still walk.

I wonder how many ITunes users voted for tax increases on cigarettes in Jersey.

Why was tattooing exempt from taxation in the first place? Did tattoo artists have that much sway with the legislature that they could threaten to move to another state if they were taxed?

Well, you know how it is when Big Tattoo gets its hands around the government's throat...

Democratic Governor Jon Corzine proposed the sales tax expansion earlier this spring to help the state to recover from a $4.5 billion budget deficit, an ABC News affiliate in New York reported recently on its Web site. The changes, along with a sales tax rate hike from 6 to 7 percent, took effect on Oct. 1.

I wonder how many ITunes users voted for tax increases on cigarettes in Jersey.

No matter what group the lawmakers finger to raise the taxes to balance their damn pork programs, it's just WRONG!  And to admit it bold face as well makes me sick!

All these years they come right out and say they have to raise cigarette taxes to balance their budgets.  Well, now that they aren't realizing all that tax dollars from smokers anymore, they are going after other groups.

Well, like I always said, Randall, "when they go after another group, they are leaving the smokers alone."  So they can have at!

They are now taxing shipping cost. Just got my notice from my Legal side. Can you imagine getting a tax on UPS charges. 7% on computed charges. Just how do you figure that out when there is usually a rebate to shipper based on volume? I can't believe I still have a business in NJ. 37 years of this crap...

New Jersey launches iTunes tax

I guess the next thing they'll want to tax is the air the citizens of NJ breaths.

I am from NJ, and some of us do mind. This tax is from a governor who, when campaigning, would give out the standard line, "I have no plans for any new taxes." Once in office, he suddenly discovered that there was a big problem that he didn't notice before, and that a raft of new and heavier taxes was the only solution.

Every Democrat governor since Brendan Byrne has done the same thing, and the only Republican governor, old Tom Kane, spent state funds like a crazed RINO. We have had no good statewide politicians in office for decades.

As far as I can tell, they are all the equivalent of crooks. They most resemble holdup men (in their tax policies), and pimps and prostitutes in their relationship to the gambling "industry" and the teachers' unions.

"Garden State officials didn't stop at downloaded music and videos for the newly taxed set. New Jerseyans must now pay taxes on data processing; tanning, massage and tattooing services; limousines; and flooring and carpeting installation, among other things."

But, but, but, I thought it would stop with the eeeeevvvviiiil cigarettes!
Crooked government employees can't do their job. So, let's tax the hell out of something else.

Nanny-state ping.

I suggest a "Gay Governor" tax.

Say 99 percent tax rate on all Gay Governor book reciepts?

Try that tax first Jon Corzine.

Let's see, the reason why they need to raise the taxes is because of a budget deficit caused by ????.

A. High dollar public contracts to campaign contributors
B. Failed social programs
C. Corruption
D. Spending like druken sailors
E. Rediculous government worker pay raises (for a special few) and BIG FAT pensions
F. All of the above

Hmmm... I'll take a guess and say the answer is F!

You forgot G) School Funding Formulas that require expenditures of $20,000+ for students in urban districts, all funded by local property taxes on suburban residences.
