I feel so left out. I don't have a gay page.

I was out last night, and even when the talk turned to politics, this subject was never brought up. That was exactly my experience too. Most people out in the normal world have either never heard of this idiocy, know who Foley is, or care particularly about naughty gay IM's. This one is looking more and more like one of those "inside the Beltway" obsessions of the political class, and while they're wondering why the country is giving it a collective yawn the country is wondering what is in the water back there.
To: Tom D.
Probably the best single Foleygate piece yet. What a shame that we can't get this level of reporting on the real facts from Fox News or George Will or Charles Krauthammer or Michelle Malkin or the other GOP pundits who seem determined to spread the lie and destroy us at the polls in November.
Because they all jumped on the Foley-is-a-pedophile bandwagon before the facts were known, they now seem unable to convey the facts and will let the lie work to defeat Republicans in November.
Given that the Dims in the majority will undoubtedly work to weaken laws to protect children from molesters as they always do with ACLU/NAMBLA pressure, it is these GOP pundits who are the pedophile-enablers, not the GOP House leadership.
Thank goodness for Steyn and Drudge and Limbaugh.

When a member of the House of Lords went abroad after a homosexual scandal, King George V is said to have remarked, "Good God, I thought fellows like that shot themselves." When Steyn says it he gets applause around here.
When I said it last week it earned me a three day time out.

It's already boring. I think they opened it up way too early. Americans forget fast and get bored even faster. This is really a nothing story. There is less to it than meets the eye.

This is not something done "by the party out of power," this is a manufactured scandal and that requires the complicity of Democrats.

It was brought out early to cover for Clinton's meltdown.
But also, they thought Foley would hold on longer. This Hastert thing was an audible at the line of scrimmage.

I agree. Absolutely nobody has even mentioned it at work, not even jokingly. I think it's a non-issue among the general public.

I just don't see this story having the national impact that the MSM imagines. According to the MSM, the Foley Scandal is the talk of every dinner table and, worse, all the evangelical pulpits.
Methinks the Foley Scandal is more likely the desperate obsession of liberal newsrooms and caucus meetings.
Sure, it will cost the GOP some votes -- out of pure embarrassment, if nothing else.
But it will also cost the Democrats some votes -- from the gay community, who should be rightly outraged by the way the MSM has cynically scandalized their lifestyle.
At the same time, it serves as concrete proof that the Dems don't have an idea bigger than a gnat's ass in their depraved little brains.

No need for you to be sorry, unless of course you're the Mod who gave me the toss for mentioning the very same thing the insetimable Mr. Steyn said.
On the bright side I suppose I can say I wrote something before Mr. Steyn. The odds of that happening again are pretty long.

I'm no mod at all ... although I play a freelance Niceness Nazi on the North Carolina forum :-).
It's pretty impressive to have written a line before Mark Steyn. Round of applause!

I draw the line at deep bows. Feathered hats have never really been my thing.
Once one wears a feathered hat it's only a matter of time before you're sliding into tights. It's all straight downhill from there.

In the sense that there's any "child abuse" going on here, the American people are being treated like children and abused by the politico-media class.Bingo! Unfortunately also known as "business as usual."
