I can't be here until near noon. I am MOST interested in seeing if the backstabbing panel of Beltway conservatives will cement their irrelevance by continuing to call for Hastert's resignation.
Here we are, YaYa.
Oops, helps if I put you in the "to" place.
I don't think anyone in America is madder at Foley than Bob Woodward.
Bob has been relegated to only one appearance today.
Laura Ingraham is good, but if anyone heard FNS promotion, they would just skip. But, this nightly special: "Fox News at 10: Thank You America" should be interesting.
Some of it from the recording (before editing).
Roger Ailes, Brit Hume, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Neil Cavuto, Alan Colmes, Greta Van Susteren and Shepard Smith & lots of reporters , crew from Fox in the audience[Miss Teen USA, Miss Universe too].
Chris Wallace and Martha MacCallum conduct the proceedings, ask lots of funny questions to the above [taking a gentle swipe at Bill Clinton too - "Wallace, you right-wing hit-man"]. Juliet Huddy cheering up the audience side now & then.
American Flag in a corner & many wore Flag-pins. One women with KanyeWest T-Shirt removed. Susan Estrich gave Ann Coulter her new book - "Soulless: Ann Coulter".
Full of laughter, applause, fun. Don't miss it. Specially for Fox, it 's good for them to look back & realize who made them successful, what made them successfull.
Before trying to be fair to the other side, atleast be fair to those who lifted them to where they are now. They were leading with the agenda for MSM then, now they are just following the agenda of MSM.
Perhaps they want to start winning awards from the journalism tribe and that won't happen unless they are willing to do damage to Republicans generally, and to conservatives in particular.
Thanks AB! Mark for after Church.
On point. Funny, they think they are throwing bombs, but the bombs instead of destroying their intended targets each bomb knocks down the other bomb.
Thanks for the ping AB, and also for the mention!
Hello rodguy! Good to have you back from the "Bermuda Triangle"!
If Foley was a dem and went after children, rather than a witch hunt, he'd be a hero. Rather than being a perv, he would be standing up for sexual freedom. He could lead the parade in San Francisco and have Nancy beside him... if only he was a dem.
About exactly this, Roger Ailes has a rule, which I will post in my nuggets soon. Atleast, he is on our side on this. More later.
Hmmmm, got any pics? Hehehehehe!
In the category of "strange bedfellows" (it is difficult to even type that phrase these days) we seem to be aligned with Kristol on l'affaire Foley. What an odd world! Oops, I guess "odd" is going to become a word that cannot be used in normal conversation, either.
I will look forward to it, as I always do.
thanks for the link that got me here, and I really enjoyed the preview thread.
Chris Matthews Sunday Show
As usual, Andrew Sullivan equates everything to Republicans being anti-gay. Tucker Carlson tells Andrew Sullivan every organization in this administration has a Gay Pride Day. Carlson tells Sullivan "gay" is not the issue driving republican angst. It's immigration and the war. (Smack down Andrew, everything isn't about you!)
12 of the Matthews regulars say Foley news will depress republican vote. (This is my favorite prediction = I think just the opposite. I think cocky dems will stay home. The pollsters are ignoring all the broken glass.)
Big picture, connect the dots Maureen Dowd says Republican women will be turned off by Republicans who are hurting kids in Iraq and in the Page program. (How's that for combining two polar opposite issues into one?) Matthews had asked specifically how women's vote will be affected this Nov.
Sullivan and Nora O'Donnell agree, the Foley scandal isn't about gays, it's about abusive behavior. (Women just hate that, dontchaknow, while according to their logic, men don't mind so much.)
Tucker says everyone in our washington world has disgust for evangelical vote. (I agree) Tucker is very firm on this and to prove his point, he even says people he works with, and people who live on his street feel this way. (If Tucker's house gets egged, if he isn't invited to potluck dinners, you'll know he ticked off his neighbors)
Bush is like Hastert, blaming everyone else, says Maureen Dowd on Bush's war in Iraq. She said "not taking responsibility is a Republican thing.
Tucker says Senator Warner only now coming out against the war??? All of us are guilty of that, he says. "Not everyone, not me", said Chris Matthews, who must now want it on the record, he never supported the War. (he sounded just like a bratty brother blaming the mess on his little sister)
Nora O'Donnell said the Bush administration thought they had 3 good weeks, now they've lost momentum, with Foley and the Woodward book dominating the news
And wouldn't you know, Chris Matthews has to make fun of Tony Snow because of an old radio ad on home repairs, still being on the air. Lets hope what Snow is selling on Bush's war, is better than his selling job in this ad, Matthews mocks. Of course Matthews would want to make fun of Tony, he's no doubt very aware how effective Tony is.
Matthews gets around to discussing Hillary. What kind of woman is she?, he asks. Maureen Dowd says polls out show 75% of democrats think Hillary should run, but the majority of them don't think she should win. The ever wannabee clever, and too cute by half Maureen says Hillary was the alpha male in the White House, now she's playing Geisha in the Senate, fetching coffee for members, etc.
Sullivan says Hillary's solution to winning White House is to be a warrior queen and make Bill Clinton her Sec of State.
Nora O'donnell says women are toughest on Hillary.
Tucker says Hillary would get majority of women vote. Tucker thinks Hillary would start more wars than Bush.
Andrew Sullivan says Foley's behavior was known since 1994, the republicans should have known.
Tucker Carlson said another congressman's name will come out, a heterosexual who has also abused pages. He will be named, said Tucker, and Chris Matthews says, "I agree". I don't think Carlson said which party this congressman belonged to, but for certain Carlson and Matthews know the name of this congressman, and it sounded like the "outing" will come soon.
(I suppose we could take bets on who it will be, both Carlson and Matthews looked gravely serious about this prediction, so I suspect it' a democrat...just my guess, but a good one.....why? Because a heterosexual republican page abuser's name would already be "out there".)
Uh oh, a C-Span caller is echoing Maureen Dowd. He says republicans can't protect pages any better than they can protect Dubai ports or protect the people either, oh and by the way, voting machines are in the hands of republicans, we can't trust election results. The host says, "we've got to do another program on those (pesky) voting machines, we seemed to have tapped into something".
Mark Steyn has a great piece on this Foley scandalette. His take is, in essence, have you all lost your minds.

No pic, but she was whining to the NYDaily news gossip - Rush & Mulloy about it.
LOL! Him and his publisher.
"FoxNews... Fair, Balanced, and Afraid of the left".
Funny you should bring up "we" who made them successful... they seem to have forgotten "our" part in their rise to being number one (and losing audience) in cable news.
LLS
Good Sunday morning to you.
Thanks for the thread. Methinks I'll have to hold my nose as I watch this morning ;-)
LOL!
She's still miffed that many conservatives have rejected her "infinite wisdom".

This is the new morning bombshell. Foley actually had sex with a 21 year old ex-page. However, it shows that Foley was nothing more than a classic chickenhawk, sizing up boys and then approaching them when they became legal. Disgusting, but very common approach by older homosexuals.
Apparently, Foley was a perv, but a smart one and no different than millions of other homosexuals. This is going to hurt the Dems with conservatives, it is their agenda that has allowed this situation to happen.
Apparently, all there is to really "know" is that he was a homosexual who was doing what homosexual men do...having sex with other men. If he spotted someone while they were underage, he waited to make overt moves until that inconvenience was out of the way. There is, so far, no evidence that he "preyed" in anyone underage. He was very aware of what the laws were, he was helping to write them, and he conciously avoided any criminal acts. What do dems want us to do with homosexuals exactly. I think someone should ask them.
And thanks for the great report.
Nice recap of the show, thanks YaYa, you saved my time by avoiding watching it.
Thanks for posting the awards.
Will not be around today as having a cooker (stove) installed and re-organising kitchen.
Will catch up on posts later hopefully if all goes well in kitchen
I won't buy the bor book, but I understand that 'Cultural Warrior' is bringing down bob's book. What a shame!!!!
Yep! So, I heard! Glad your back safe and sound though!
thanks, and i hope others do watch, if only to confirm what I thought most important: Tucker and Chris predicting a heterosexual congressman is about to get outted big time, for messing around with page(s).
Gathered together in the newspaper's break room, or at the many cocktail parties and wine-sips or coffee shops they attend, they all spout liberal platitudes, believe and echo the same tired talk that they first articulated in the anit-war protests of the late 60's. Every Republican is the MAN, Bull Conner, Richard MILHOUS Nixon, Rush Limbaugh.
You've all seen it. The adoration of Bill Clinton, versus the scorn and derision against Ronald Reagan. Just look at how (aside from Chris Wallace, hehe) Bill Clinton is questioned vice how Ronald Reagan was (remember Sam Donaldson?). Reagan, as the Great Communicator, was able to talk over them, pretend, with a cupped hand over his ear, that he couldn't hear the shouted, spittle-ladened questions, but nevertheless the ATTITUDE of the press was most revealing.
Today the same occurs, but in my not so humble opinion has reached a fever pitch. In her latest column Cynthia Tucker, a very liberal pontificator and Platinum Club member of the HateBushHitler club, says it all: If a GOP-controlled Congress loses in November because its leaders failed to rein in a sexual predator, so be it. But that's hardly the worst crime this bunch has perpetrated against the country.
Now consider what she's saying, in her opening remarks. Basically she's stating that the Republicans are so evil, that ANYTHING used to get them out of power is ok. The end justifies the means.
We could allow such vitriol coming from an OpEd writer, who, after all is paid for her OPINION, no matter how vile, but this attitude permeates the entire liberal left-wing journalistic community of reporters. Not that the corporations who own media outlets have told them to do so, but as a matter of a mindset and groupthink that the journalists generally have that is anti-American, anti-conservative, and anti-Republican.
Their UNDISCIPLINED, UNETHICAL and UNPROFESSIONAL behavior has let their distaste for us come out in their reporting. If they'd just report the "who, what, when, where, and how" of yesteryear's professional reporter guide their storylines, all would be fine. But their bias is leaking, oozing, and spilling out in virtually every story, especially if it shows the Republicans in a bad light. If a story would make the Republicans look good, then it is not reported or relegated to page B14.
I once thought Fox News would be an ethical, professional organization that would keep the personal biases of their reporters OUT of the story line, but now see that the angry left has brow-beaten them into behaving like all the others. It is time to consider, if we even have a free press anymore. We don't. Let us strive to be the free press. Right here on Free Republic!
Did she stay on the set after the T-shirt was removed?
Russert leads by continuing to beat the Foley thing (I can't call this a scandal, maybe a scandalette) further to death. Talent tries to turn the debate to actual issues, but noooo, Timmy wants to talk about getting the investigation out before the election. Talent points out that it comes out when they can get it done.
McCaskell says that when a 50 year old man asks for a teens picture on the internet something needs to be done. She doesn't say what, however.
Chris Wallace started his interview with tthe R congressman by saying the the congressman supported Foley. Luckily, Congressman Kingston knew that Wallace "misspoke" and meant to say 'supported Hastert.'
So Wallace's slip might be classified under the category of Freudian = conflating the two Republicans - Hastert and Foley - into one being.
Why is that relevant in a US SENATE race? Foley was in the House!
I really don't understand why all these MSM hoopla is. I really don't consider David Brooks reasonable to republicans, but it looks like he penned a good column for NYTimes which hides under subscription wall, but Blogress Althouse gives a good take on that.
We fell into yet another rat trap! The striking difference between how we handle our bad guys and how the rats handle theirs should have been enough to enlighten even the dullest voter.
The fact that Hastert fell into the you better be scared of what the rat/DBM/DNC media has to say about you trickis indeed sad and pathetic.
The rats firmly believe that govt. is the sole answer to every problem society has. They would no doubt opt for a congressional moaning center for those who have molested Paige's funded by zillions of taxpayers funds rather than do what we did so quickly, get rid of Foley immediately.
The rats don't get it! Govt. is the problem not the answer. It's sad the the speaker stepped into yet another rat trap.
He wants to advance the meme that Pubbies are bad and will cover up wrongdoing for political power. He doesn't care whether they had anything to do with it or not.
