Sen. Kerry Still Fighting Swift Boat Veterans

Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., lashed out Sunday against a group that campaigned against him during his last run at the White House.

Kerry said he is concerned that Swift Vote Veterans for Truth is again resorting to "the politics of fear and smear."

The group, financed by Texas conservatives, ran commercials questioning his Vietnam record - the centerpiece of his presidential campaign in 2004. Those same conservatives have formed another group this year - Economic Freedom Fund - to campaign against Democrats across the country.

"We're not going to give them an ounce of daylight," said Kerry, who is considering another run at the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008.

The senator said his response to the commercials in 2004 was not strong enough.

"We thought the fact that the truth was out there was enough," he said. "Clearly it wasn't."

I would welcome a Kerry run for president. The Dems wouldn't support him because he already lost the big one. You only get one shot if you're a Dem since it's all smoke and mirrors. Personally, I think in '08 the Republicans can run the yellow dog against any of the Vichy-Americans in the Democrat party and win going away with it.

But, as some have mentioned here, the true events surrounding your alleged discharge from the Navy in (circa) '72 are most assuredly NOT "...out there...".

It's too bad that you have no chance at the Dem nomination (Hillary Rodham has a lock on that).

One could almost imagine listening to 'Kerryspeak' that he is cautious to anyone using a 'voice analyzer' on his statements.

He makes what would seem a vigorous statement of truth defending his position; but in truth it is no more than the weakest of 'whines' for a truth that Kerry wants to own; but will never have.

See this often; and is a sure sign; that the the person has embedded the lie. . .in a superficial truth; and wants to keep it there.
