"Which is now renamed, on my wall calendar, as Day of the Race"
You are joking, I hope.
In Venezuela (per Chavez) it's called "Day of Indigenous Resistance!"
BTW, Día de la Raza ("day of the race"), commemorating the first encounters of Europe and Native Americans, was first celebrated in Argentina in 1917, Venezuela in 1921, Chile in 1923, and Mexico in 1928.
NO!! I went to mark Columbus Day -- we have the flag he flew under, I thot I'd hang it up. And there it was, marked like that!! (made by Mead, Westvaco Office Products -- one of those big month-by-month ones).
I 'bout ripped it off the wall.
