Ahmadinejad to shake up his cabinet.

  • Iran Press News reported that a source close to Ahmadinejad's cabinet said that in the coming days vast changes will be taking place within the administration. The first to leave will be the oil minister; Vaziri Hamaneh is expected to be dismissed from the cabinet.

 

Ahmadinejad fails to deliver his economic miracle.

  • Inter Press Service reported that Iranian citizens are wondering if Ahmadinejad will ever make good on an election promise to crack down on the corrupt and distribute Iran's vast oil revenues more equitably.
  • BBC News reported that Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei has called on the government of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to curb surging prices.

 

Now the Islamic Republic wants to start negotiations with France to produce nuclear fuel.

  • The Jerusalem Post reported that a top Iranian nuclear official proposed that France enrich Iran's uranium on Iranian soil.
  • The New York Times reported that President Bush and Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed on Monday on the need to maintain unity in pressuring Iran to curtail its nuclear program.

 

How the Islamic Republic treats its citizens.

  • Iran Press News reported that on September 29th, the inhumane Islamic publicly executed two youths in the south-eastern city of Khorramshahr (province of Khuzestan); the two had been charged with “coming to blows with disciplinary guards who were involved in strict security measures”.
  • Iran Press News reported that Mohsen Sohrabi, a Chemical Engineering undergraduate student, was expelled by the university management. He was active in the student cultural-political guild as well as a member of the student association and during the recent association elections, he was acting supervisor.
  • Iran Press News reported that the inhumane Islamic republic has issued death sentence for 5 people in the south-western city of Ahvaz – Province of Khuzestan. The five, only known as Zawmen, Mohsen, Emod, Sohrob and Asad, are charged with "bombing". According to the regime-run newspaper Aftob’eh Yazd, the death sentences were approved by revolutionary court, branch 32.
  • Iran Press News reported on a letter about the imprisoned Mehrdad Lohrasbi was returned to prison after a short medical furlough.
  • Iran Press News reported that the mullah judge overseeing the case of 19-year-old-girl, Delara Darabi has claimed that due to Amnesty International’s intervention he now considers the case to have been politicized and as such, he has seen fit to confirm the young woman’s order of execution.

 

Islamic Republic stirring up trouble in Afghanistan.

  • The Guardian reported that Iranians ave been meeting tribal elders in Taliban-influenced areas, bringing offers of military or more often financial support for the fight against foreign forces.

 

Khatami's confession: he called for the crushing of the 1999 student protests.

  • Iran Press News reported that Mullah Mohammad Khatami, former president of the Islamic regime in an interview – called the student activists who took part in the July 1999 uprising, nothing more than provocateurs and revolutionaries and confessed to calling on his administration to suppress them and quash the movement.
  • Cox & Forkum published an appropriate cartoon: Khatami visits the imprisoned student protestors of 1999.

 

US to make a major push to shutdown the Islamic Republic's access to world banks.

  • Eli Lake, The New York Sun reported that Secretary of State Rice will press Arab foreign ministers tomorrow in Cairo to instruct banks in the region to cut ties to any entities contributing to Iran's nuclear program, support for terror, or pursuit of advanced conventional weapons.

  • Bloomberg reported that Japan's government said it will withdraw support for Inpex Holdings Inc.'s $2.5 billion Azadegan oil project if the United Nations imposes sanctions on Iran for refusing to curtail nuclear research.
  • Iran Press News reported: “Seyed Reza Kassaiizadeh, managing director of the National Iranian gas pipeline said that the explosion of the Iran-Turkey gas pipeline would not have resulted from natural causes but it is entirely likely that it would have been tampered with.”
  • Yahoo News reported on Menashe Amir, an expert on Iranian affairs and the efforts of Studio 4 of the Israel Broadcast Association to broadcast daily in to Iran.
