Perry establishes intel center to curb Houston crime wave

Perry's Border Security Plan

Perry is far from perfect, but he's a significantly more conservative than the other candidates running.

I've got to hand it to Kinky. DUmbBell called him and asked him to get out of the race so the dems could win...

Kinky's reply:
Hell no. "We don't negotiate with terrorists".

For that, Kinky has my respect, even though Perry will probably get my reluctant vote.

Dittos to what you said. I wouldn't vote for Perry for dog catcher.

Kinky will beat the Libertarian for 4th place but that is about it. I doubt seriously that his support is an inch deep. His biggest group of favorables is among the college crowd and maybe he can get a few of them to the polls but as a rule they don't vote in large numbers....

Kinky supports or advocates the following:
--Abortion
--Amnesty for illegals
--Business taxes
--Death penalty review
--Disrepects Texas Hunters: "I do not suffer hunters gladly,"
--Gay Marriage
--Guest worker program increases of 400,000 per year
--Health care: the state should impose a 1 percent surcharge on procedures and hospital stays
--Immigration bill passed by the Senate 3-27-2006
--Same day voter registration
--Slots for Tots
--Willie Nelson to head the Texas Rangers
--Farouk Shami, Palestinian, as Texas Ambassador to Israel
--Robert Muhammad, Nation of Islam-Houston, to Clean up Houston

There are some interesting dynamics here. Most Kinky Friedman voters are actually quasi libertarian and would never vote for Strayhorn. The Strayhorn voters are democrat lite, RINO and a little strange also. The Democrat candidate can not drop out. What the hell happens if Strayhorn drops out? We might wind up with Governor Kinky.

If Kinky drops out it is Governor Perry for sure. There is absolutely no way Strayhorn can win regardless of the mix of the candidates. What will she decide to do? Her hate of Perry is viscerally vicious, personal and deep.

The last ten days of the election are going to be very interesting. If Kinky would put forth a plan that would address the problem of property tax and illegal immigration that would be funded and legal and a function of Texas law only, he could win the governors office. If he proposed a 1% increase in sales tax on everything and ended the property tax for local schools he would be a formidable candidate.

Ahh, I looked it up. Primaries require a runoff if < 50%, but not genral election. Cool.

What's so great about Rick Perry?

Absolutely nothing. Perry is the worst possible choice for governor.

Except for the other three.

Perry is a good man and he's conservative on the core issues.

I don't agree with everything he's done, but there's not a second term politician I can say that about.

I'm a regular Joe, he is concerned about me. What regular Joes need is to keep our State healthy, limit government, and maintain a healthy economic environment. We don't need a hand out. You can't have it both ways. You want to limit government don't expect hand outs.

Those libs in Mass are concerned about the Regular Joes, try to find a job up there! Good Luck!

PERRY has my vote!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you conservative? Who are you voting for?

Perry has put millions into border security. He deployed the National Guard before the Feds initiative. He's got millions allocated to go to border security. He's openly stated that we have to secure the borders first. He's bucked the Bush immigration plan in that respect.

So you're blaming him for being a good neighbor. That is about the weakest argument I've heard against him. I was an emergency worker taking care of those folks. There were a hell of a lot of good people we assisted and were there for. When our state needed our resources with another impending Hurricane he didn't hesitate, he provided clear concise direction and leadership so we could implement our emergency operations plans and prepare for the worst. Sure we're suffering some negative consequences from Katrina hold overs. That doesn't mean we don't help our brother and sister Americans when they are in need.

Be pissed off about the toll roads or the cigarette tax, but please get some info on this other ill informed rhetoric you're using to support your position.

The support for Kinky I do not understand. Is he pro-choice? Is he even serious about governing? Would he have the slightest idea what he is doing if he were to win.

I think the Kinks (including Friedman himself) are Willie-Nelson yuppies in and around Austin and Houston that think this is a hugh joke that only the sophisticated, superior elites like themselves understand.
