A U.S. based environmental magazine that both former Vice President Al Gore (http://gristmill.grist.org/print/2006/9/19/11408/1106?show_comments=no ) and PBS newsman Bill Moyers, for his October 11th global warming edition of “Moyers on America” titled “Is God Green?” (http://www.grist.org/news/maindish/2006/05/09/roberts/index.html ) have deemed respectable enough to grant one-on-one interviews to promote their projects, is now advocating Nuremberg-style war crimes trials for skeptics of human caused catastrophic global warming. Grist Magazine’s staff writer David Roberts called for the Nuremberg-style trials for the “bastards” who were members of what he termed the global warming “denial industry.”
Roberts wrote in the online publication on September 19, 2006, "When we've finally gotten serious about global warming, when the impacts are really hitting us and we're in a full worldwide scramble to minimize the damage, we should have war crimes trials for these bastards -- some sort of climate Nuremberg.” http://gristmill.grist.org/print/2006/9/19/11408/1106?show_comments=no
Gore and Moyers have not yet commented on Grist's advocacy of prosecuting skeptics of global warming with a Nuremberg-style war crimes trial. Gore has used the phrase "global warming deniers" to describe scientists and others who don't share his view of the Earth's climate. It remains to be seen what Gore and Moyers will have to say about proposals to make skepticism a crime comparable to Holocaust atrocities.

If the earth is warming, it's warming. So, global warming certainly appears to be happening. The other options are: *cooling* or *stay the same* and it's not doing either of those. What I deny is the reasons they promulgate and their solutions to the problem.

The earth has been warming for some 12-15,000 years. That's why we don't have glaciers throughout the northern part of the US any longer, and why the sea levels have risen some 400-430 feet (most of that prior to 5,000 years ago).
The questions are, is the warming accelerating because of human activities, and what (if anything) should or even could be done.
This is where we need the best research possible, and the threat to charge one side of a scientific debate with "war crimes" is just like a bunch of liberals. They wanted "free speech" when they were the unwashed mobs, but when they took over that's the last thing they want to see.
I think somebody did that one. My idea was more original ~ just use the Deutsche Nazi party song from WWII, and see if we can hammer it around a bit to make it different from what AlGore's little friends have in mind for everybody.

Read an interesting article the other day. Seems a British scientist thinks we can stop GW by injecting sulfur dioxide into the atmosphere. He used the climate change caused by volcanos as an example. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that what scrubbers take out of coal fired power plant emissions? And didn't they become the norm during the 80's? And hasn't been since the 80's that we have had the most supposed warming? Maybe we should just remove the scrubbers and let the PP do the work for us.
When these fruit bats explain how we can be responsible for global warming on Mars, then I'll take them seriously. Instead they become more shrill and now advocate criminal trials for anyone who disagrees with them. Cute.

Problem is, that even if we could do something about it (assuming it's man induced), we could *over correct* and send ourselves into another cooling trend and ice age. Then we'll have the weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth over THAT!
My philosophy is that you can't grow crops in the snow. If I had to choose, I'd take global warming with lower fuel costs and extended growing seasons.

I wouldn't be so suspicious were it not for the fact that EVERY proposed solution to ANY environmental problem ALWAYS involves socialism, electing democrats, and/or un-electing Republicans. Sounds like sound science to me!! I noticed that when clinton was elected president, environmental problems decreased significantly within one day after his election (based upon the immediate DECREASE in the number of "environmental disaster" stories reported in the MSM).
