Rice: Palestinians deserve to live free of 'occupation'[at an event of pro-Palestinian group]
Haaretz ^ | 10/12/2006 | AP

Posted on 10/11/2006 6:46:16 PM PDT by Sabramerican

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice says Palestinians deserve to live better than they do and be "free of the humiliation of occupation" in a state of their own.

"I promise you my personal commitment to that goal," Rice said at a dinner marking the third anniversary of the American Task Force on Palestine.

"There could be no greater legacy for America," Rice told the group, which describes itself as nonpartisan and supportive of a Palestinian state living side by side with Israel.

"The Palestinian people deserve a better life ... free of the humiliation of occupation," she said

Except that your analogy is ridiculous.

I mean really stupid.

We don't have any occupied territory.

Illegal aliens are a problem, but to compare them to the Israeli/Palestinian situation is totally asinine.

Please ask the moderators to remove your post as temporary insanity.

I gave up on the administration quite some time ago, myself. It's Congress that has profoundly disappointed me. Two chambers, six years, more movement backwards than forwards. It's an utter disgrace.

Hell, I gave up on the Bush Administration quite some time ago.

Yeah, me too. Not too long after the 2004 election. The main thing on my mind now is 2008. We need a respected conservative leader who can really communicate and extend his ideas without stumbling every other sentence. I do fear John McCain as a possible president, but I know many liberals and moderates that would vote for him. It scares me.

The more I know Bush and Clinton, the more I realize what a great president Reagan was.

I know and respect Bush for not wanting to pass on the problems currently posed by a nuclear North Korea and the fanatical ahmadamnutjob Iran leader. I truly believe that Bush will try and minimize these threats while he's still president. I just don't know how or if it can be done without massive bloodshed.

You apparently don't have a logical argument.

"We don't have any occupied territory."

The Jews are not occupying any territory belonging to the terrorists you're arguing for, either.

"Illegal aliens are a problem, but to compare them to the Israeli/Palestinian situation is totally asinine."

No, it's not, although the generic Arabs exiled from their various countries (AKA, "Palestinians") are much worse than Mexicans. But you apparently don't think so.

"Please ask the moderators to remove your post as temporary insanity."

Find a Democrat discussion board that suits your agreement with the terrorists. Such boards will probably more likely accomodate your personal attacks, which are hardly disguised as argument attacks.

Palestinians deserve to be dispersed throughout the Muslim world and their "country" turned into a no-man's land.

They Palestinians spoke loud and lear when they elected Hamas.

America is really in serious trouble. Both parties are run by people who are out of touch with reality.

"Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice says Palestinians deserve to live better than they do and be 'free of the humiliation of occupation' in a state of their own."

The terrorist propaganda about Israeli "occupation" of Israel is a lie. Our President should appoint a new Secretary of State. It's common knowledge that the various Islamofascists exiled by their own nations of origin want to destroy the nation of Israel and don't belong there.

I don't have the patience to explain to you what you fail to understand this evening.

Suffice it to say for this evening that I don't need to find a Democrat board to justify my view that we don't have an analogous situation with illegal aliens with the Israeli problem with the Palestinians.

I'd similarly suggest a kook forum for you.

If you want to continue this insane argument tomorrow, I'll take you on.

But I'm done for the night.

You may not think it's occupied, and I'd agree with you, but ask the people in the AZTLAN and LA RAZA groups if they consider the Southwest occupied and you'd get a different answer.

What would Rice say if someone blew themselves up on a bus in San Diego or Phoenix demaning an end to the occupation of Aztlan?

What would Rice say if some Indian blew himself up in a mall in Pierre or Albequerqe demanding an end to the US occupation of Indian land?

It just goes to show that everyone has double standards and is hypocritical to some extent.

The bottom line is that this has nothing to do with occupation. It has to do with the fact that the arabs/muslims will not be satisfied until Israel is no more. They see it as a temporary abberation, a la the Crusader kingdoms of the middle ages, and it may well be. But all this talk of occupation just masks the real issue, which Rice is either blind to or willfully ignores.

I vote willfully ignores. She's as educated as anyone on earth. She studies cultures; she reads the highest level security reports on what the Palestinians are actually saying and doing. No, I think she is willfully choosing a side and I think part of the reason has to do with oil.

Bush tried to open ANWR as one step toward lowering our dependence on the Arabs. The citizens of this country want no part of drilling on our land. So what does a President have to do to protect our future? Kiss up to the Arabs. Now, it is kind of sickening when you see the President doing it with all his heart. But I'm sure he thinks he's being practical.

Don't try to move the goalpost. You need some evidence for your statement that Israel belongs to the generic Arabs and is occupied by the Jews.

The statement is anti-Israel...and yes, you are right, Israel should annex the territory and transfer the terrorists to Jordan.

The original "Palestinians" were known as Canaanites. The Arabs have no claim to this land as being the original Palestinians. Who do the Arabs claim to be their ancestor? And who were that ancestors parents? That's right: a Chaldean and an Egyptian. That's right, no Canaanite at all there.

The Jews were given a direct mandate by God to exterminate the Canaanites, and to occupy their lands. In God's eyes the Canaanites were a wicked people, and the Jews were God's chosen people, i.e., holy, and set apart (not only as a people of a distinct culture, and ethnicity, but a people with a divine purpose). However, they were not to do so until the wickedness of the Canaanites had reached its fullness. When the time came for them to do what they had been tasked to do by God, they utterly failed to complete the task; even taking Canaanite women as their wives. Without doubt no good could come from this and none ever has.

In AD 135, after putting down the Bar Kochba revolt, the second major Jewish revolt against Rome, the Emperor Hadrian wanted to blot out the name of the Roman "Provincia Judaea" and so renamed it "Provincia Syria Palaestina", the Latin version of the Greek name and the first use of the name as an administrative unit. The name "Provincia Syria Palaestina" was later shortened to Palaestina, from which the modern, anglicized "Palestine" is derived.

Palestine has never been partitioned in all of history. Palestine is a geographically defined region established by the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Yaweh - I Am that I Am) with the Jews in an everlasting covenant. That the Jews lost the rod (power to rule) and their lands (as foretold in (Joel 3:2; cf. UN Resolution 181), subsequently scattered from it to the four corners of the Earth hasn't changed that one iota.

The geographic region of Palestine that has been granted to the Jews by God's covenant has historically been recognized as being Palestine in total. Scripture is quite clear on the subject: those people that curse the Jews will be cursed by God Himself. Those people that go against God's covenant will incur His wrath. The Jews incured God's wrath, and when the British government first partitioned Palestine in 1920, the British lost their empire. Even so the British Kingdom established what was known as Palestine Eretz Israel, the restricted immigration into the land by some ridiculously low number of 1000 annually. And several years later they stopped all immigration by proclaiming there was no more room.

There are no arguing these facts: they happened. Neither can there be argued any logic to the events occuring: because the events athat have unfolded go against any logic concievable. That Israel even exists presently is an outgrowth of the persecution that the Jews suffered during the Holocaust. They were persecuted not only by Hitler's fanaticism, but by the anti-semitism of the entire world at the time; nobody lifted a finger to help them. If somebody is interested in a tragedy they should familiarize themselves with the plight of the passengers of the St. Louis during WWII. No country offered them safe haven.

Hitler spelled it all out in Mein Kampf. Nobody thought he was serious. He I.D'd 11 million Jews for extermination. The world got together and held a conference. He subsequently mocked the results of the Evian conference by saying: "If you don't like my Final Solution, then I'll ship all the Jews to you (on first class luxury liners if need be)." No one would take them. Prior to he taking measures against the Jews in Hungary, he proclaimed that he'd sell them to any takers at $2/head. $1 million would have saved 500,000 Jews from the death camps. There were no takers.

At the end of WWII, at the horrors revealed of the concentration camps, and at the realization of the global governing body's complicity in the massacre, in a fit of concience they grudgingly established a national homeland for the Jews.

"There is no such country as Palestine. 'Palestine' is a term the Zionists invented. . . . Our country was for centuries part of Syria. 'Palestine' is alien to us. It is the Zionists who introduced it." - Local Arab leader to British Peel Commission, 1937

"There is no such thing as Palestine in history, absolutely not" - Professor Philip Hitti, Arab historian to Anglo-American Committee of Inquiry, 1946

"It is common knowledge that Palestine is nothing but southern Syria." - Ahmed Shukairy, United Nations Security Council, 1956

In 1964 Ahmed Shukairy became the first chairman of the Palestine Liberation Movement (in the year of its foundeding). Its charter proclaimed its sole purpose to be the destruction of Israel.

The outcome of the attack by Arab nations against Israel inspired an alteration in public rhetoric; it sounds much better in the press to speak of the liberation of Falastin than of the destruction of Israel. Much of the world, governments and media and public opinion, accept virtually without question of serious analysis the new-sprung myth of an Arab nation of Falastin, whose territory is unlawfully occupied by the Jews.

The fact of the matter is that the issue is not one of nationalism, but rather the extermination of an entire race of people. One thing is absolutely crystal: Jer 31:35,37 must occur before Israel can be destroyed. If ever Israel is destroyed, it is a foregone conlusion there will be no resurrection; for God would be proven a liar.

Condoleeza's garbage spewed is just so much of that that passes as fact these days in the drive-by MSM, i.e., "fake but accurate."

What Condi and President Bush are doing is very upsetting, and will result in America coming under Judgment from God. He will remove His hand of Blessing and protection from America.

God gave ALL of that land to Israel, and NOT to the Palestinians. They have NO claim to it. President Bush and Condi have sided with the Palestinians and are forcing Israel to give that land to the Palestinians, and because they are, America will be under the wrath (Judgment) of God.

WE will suffer because of their disobedience to God. That's because we elected Bush. I've been concerned that Bush has NOT read the Bible. IF he would have, he would KNOW that what he is doing is going against God's Word, God's plan for Israel. That is where Jesus (Messiah) is going to set up his rule from and it's imperative that Israel be intact.

We are told to Bless Abraham's descendants according to Genesis 12:1-3.

The promise given to Abraham about his descendants is for all future generations. Those who bless them will be blessed. Those who curse (or esteem them lightly, as the Hebrew word implies) will be under a curse.

This continues to be seen in the way God deals with nations who turn their backs on His chosen people, the Jews.

This is indicated clearly in the closing words of John's Revelation when the names of Israel's twelve sons still adorn the gates of the new city, the twelve Jewish apostles written on the foundation stones that of the city that will house the nations.

God's redeemed people come from every nation, tribe, tongue and people, but their conduit nation into the Presence of God is the nation of Israel. THAT is why Condi, Bush, any nation or people who turn their backs on Israel is going to incur the wrath of God. The terrible things happening in America today, cannot compare with what's to come.

Bless Israel and the Jews and Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem. THAT'S all according to Scripture.

The sad thing is that this shows that terrorism works.

The only reason the world pays attention to the Palestinians is because of terrorism and latent antisemitism to some extent, but terrorism mainly.

You never hear one peep about the Tibetans, the Northern Cypriots, the Uighurs in Xinjiang, the Germans in the Danzig corridor and East Prussia, etc... Why? Because they don't use terrorism.

Terrorism makes people pay attention. It works. As Metallica once sang, sad but true.
