NUREMBERG-STYLE TRIALS PROPOSED FOR GLOBAL WARMING SKEPTICS(Accept Socialism As Your Savior)
Senate Committee on Environment And Public Works ^ | MARC MORANO

Posted on 10/12/2006 12:00:49 AM PDT by tcrlaf

A U.S. based environmental magazine that both former Vice President Al Gore (http://gristmill.grist.org/print/2006/9/19/11408/1106?show_comments=no ) and PBS newsman Bill Moyers, for his October 11th global warming edition of “Moyers on America” titled “Is God Green?” have deemed respectable enough to grant one-on-one interviews to promote their projects, is now advocating Nuremberg-style war crimes trials for skeptics of human caused catastrophic global warming.

Grist Magazine’s staff writer David Roberts called for the Nuremberg-style trials for the “bastards” who were members of what he termed the global warming “denial industry.”

Roberts wrote in the online publication on September 19, 2006, "When we've finally gotten serious about global warming, when the impacts are really hitting us and we're in a full worldwide scramble to minimize the damage, we should have war crimes trials for these bastards -- some sort of climate Nuremberg.”

(Snip) The article Global Warming: The Chilling Effect On Free Speech last week in Spiked Online addresses this new found penchant by environmentalists and some media members to charge skeptics of human caused catastrophic global warming with “crimes against humanity” and urge Nuremberg-style prosecution of them.

If you read who beleives in man made global warming, you'll find "scientists". Those who disagree are "climatologists". Weatherman cannot predict what the weather will be five days in advance. But scientists can predict the weather years in advance. How many hurricanes have we had this year, Albore?

I only wish it was....

I read MANY articles in the Mid-80's that stated that Socialism's hope for the future lay in co-opting the Radical World Environmental Movement, after the Fall of the Soviet Union...

After all, only a Global Socialist Dictatorship would truly have the POWER to save the Planet from itself...

You are starting to see that come to fruition now, as the 60's/70's environmentalists are now in thier 60/70's, rich, and powerful...

I remember reading somewhere in the mid-80's that "Environmentalism is the New Socialism". I don't remember where that quote came from though...

Basicly it stated that World Domination by Communist Ideology could only happen now though the justification of "Saving Ourselves", and Radical Environmentalism would be the vehicle for it...

Here is a blurb from a website called "Socialist Action":

Introduction: We stand firmly in opposition to the destruction of the environment.

We believe that the scourge of pollution, depletion of resources and degradation of our natural environment is primarily the result of the reckless policies of profit driven capitalism, and the shortsighted consumerism that it fosters.

We believe that under socialism - through a rational, democratically controlled planned economy - we will be able to make decisions that can stop and reverse the destruction of the environment.

We support efforts to save what remains of our natural environment, re-tool industry to use sustainable fuels, resources and production practices, and to break down the artificial and debilitating divisions between the labor and environmental movements.

Below is a list of articles and resolutions from Socialist Action, YSA and the Fourth International, as well as a collection of links to other websites with information about ecology and the environmental movement. "

One interesting aspect of the Nuremberg Trials was showing that the perps were breaking their own countries laws (as well as the laws of civilization).

WE will judge this "asshole" by his own standard and put HIM on trial for conspiring to perpetrate the "Global Warming advocacy industry" (as well as forcing socialism upon freedom loving people...)

I recall the tyrant-wannabees (Nazis and Militarists in Japan) tried at Nuremberg and the other courts were hung until dead for their crimes.

This is very worrying and relys on the oldest trick in the book that when you indoctrinate people with fear then you have control over them.

The earth has been warming and coiling for millions of years and the default in the current epoch is 90% glacial and 10% interglacial. There may be good arguments suggesting AGW playing a role but this whole issue now is about shutting down debate altogether which is about as dangerous as it can get!!...

If these psychophant liberals have their way, then heaven help us.....run to the hills!!!

I dislike the term environmentalism being applied to such people - I consider myself an environmentalist; I want to see the environment sustained so future generations can enjoy what we have.

On the other hand, I certainly don't support propaganda which hasn't been proved one way or the other. Cutting down on oil, yes. (But that's more so that when we eventually run out, it doesn't cause another Great Depression). Forcing countries to adapt to standards, while ruining people's lives because of something that is still up in the air? Hell, no.

Scary stuff. It won't end with the environmental issue either. As we know from the way these people operate, often through fear, intimidation, and outright violence, we could see all kinds of "re-education" institutions appear if they were ever to obtain complete power.

My point, exactly! So far, computer models have predicted more hurricanes (boy, 2006 sure was a doozy), but since those same computers can't tell me what the weather will be on my birthday in 2 months, why should I believe they can predict what the temperature will be in 10,20, 50, 100, 1000 years from now.

There are too many variables in the climate to predict anything except that the sun will rise in the morning and set in the evening....any "scientist" with a double-digit IQ knows this....

"the “bastards” who were members of what he termed the global warming “denial industry.”"

There's that Liberal "projection" again. Projecting their conspiracy on the Conservatives. The bastards are the active promoters of a tooth-fairy-myth called human-induced global warming, in order to hurt freedom, industry and prosperity.

An amazing aspect of it is man's arrogance in thinking he can control the weather!

I have no problem with responsible conservation. Managed hunts to keep game animal populations under control to mass starvation doesn't occur. Timber management to remove dead, diseased and insect infested trees to reduce fire hazards. Harvesting and replanting trees to manage a renewable resource.

I do have a problem when environmentalists use endangered species laws to prevent a private property owner from developing or using his property. I have a big problem when environmentalists use fake "scientific" reports to damage national security. I object when the "anti nuke" people block the construction of nuclear power plants that could replace fossils fuels for electric generation and in the same breath whine about air pollution from fossil fuels. Hypocrits.

I see you've bought into the phrase "sustainable". Realize that some of the environmental whackos advocate killing off the human population to about 5 million people so the environment will be "sustainable" and those 5 million can exist like cavemen with subsistence farming. Put that phrase under close scrutiny so you fully comprehend what the user really means. Sometimes it is just mindless parroting of a buzzword. Sometimes it belies ulterior motives.

It is almost too simple. Sometimes during the early 60s a smart socialist figured out, that there is no way to advocate socialism the same way in the prosperous west, than it was in the piss poor Russia. Thus, the prosperity first must be eliminated. How? By claiming that it "destroys the environment". If you insist upon automobile, nice home, good food, the products of technology, you are destroying the environment.

And this caught on among the socialists. They knew well that first they must significantly decrease the standard of living and THEN they can try to claim that "we would make things better". First came global cooling. Then it quickly became ridiculous, so they switched over to global warming. Then anything energy related was destructive. They knew that that the modern technology is based on energy. If they can pull the energy plug, they can ruin the capitalist structure. Oil? Horrible. Coal? Terrible. Nuclear energy? We will all die from it. They knew damn well that solar, wind and all that wouldn't produce a fraction of what is needed. Even agriculture was/is attacked (top soil issue). An entire region of the USA is paralyzed because of the stupid spotted owl. Who is stupid enough to believe that these people REALLY are trying to protect the spotted owls? Of course not. All of their actions, and I mean ALL, targets the very same thing: prosperity, capitalist industry and agriculture.

They scream about Kyoto. It is the most shameless manifestation of what they REALLY want. USA should cut 25% of its industry, while the communist China, the SECOND highest CO2 producer would be free to generate as much CO2 as they care. Who are these people kidding? Unfortunately too many people who are not scientifically aware enough to understand what this is all about. This environmentalist insanity IS dangerous. I am all for protecting the environment, for real. Not this openly socialist nonsense. Gabor
