Neil Nails Nancy: How the GOP can offset Foley Scandal (Vanity)
10-12-06 | no dems

Sorry for the Vanity Post but I just had to relay this.

I was listening to Neil Boortz yesterday and he nailed it. If the GOP would, they could turn the table on the Dems where the Mark Foley incident is concerned. Here's what he said and it is not an exact quote:

Nancy Pelosi assailed the Boy Scouts of America because they did not want to allow gay Scout Masters in their organization. (She even wanted to take legal action against them because they do not want a gay, adult man to take young boys camping.) Now, she assails the GOP House leadership for not keeping a gay, adult congressman away from young boys. What's wrong with this picture?

This is the lady (?) who marched in a parade in San Francisco with a man who promotes man/boy love. The utter hippocrisy of Pelosi and her despicable, Dem cronies is beyond belief.

Maybe we should get Chris Shays to lay this out to the American public since most Pubbies are, ostensibly, cowering in the corner hoping this "scandal" doesn't cost them their seat in November.

O. K. GOP, time to take the gloves off. What do you have to lose but control of the House of Representatives?

The Foley Scandal is already over. We have moved on to Maddy "bubbles" Albright and the autographed basketball. And on to the Harry "Graft" Reid investigations. It is too bad cause I don't think a lot of gay people like the idea of forced outtings like the Demonrats propose.

If they take the gloves off, they lose the respect of the Washington Post.

They might be off the A-list cocktail party circuit.

Our pundits might not be invited back to This Week with Clinton's (Steffy) and Moynihan's (Russert) Ex Press Aides.

We are risking a lot by taking the gloves off. For some, it might be too much to bear.

Dimocrats drool over Ruth, please feed me, Bader Ginsburg and she wrote legislation to change the age of consent to 12! Liberals are hypocrites and always will be.

But, these pale in the public's perception to an "adult/minor sex scandal". It can still be used to our advantage.

I think the Republicans have a great deal more going on and work to do than having to fight the Pelosi "Foley" War. It's stupid.

Experienced politicians see this "foleygate" for exactly what the Democrats intended -- a diversion. Pure and simple.

And I get amused every time I see another post calling Republicans "chicken" for not kow-towing and playing this stupid game with the Democrats. And especially coming from posters and voices who also say, out of the other sides of their mouths, that America shouldn't involve itself in every war.

WOT, Nkorea, Iran, Russia, Latin America -- but some think the Repubs should be focused on the Dem kiddie game?

Good point, but the 43% of the electorate that has trouble tying their shoes every morning will never make the connection on their own. Being a typical Dem voter means never having to engage one's brain.

The utter hypocrisy is lost on the "swing" voter as well. The constant drumbeat from the media propaganda machine daily pounds the message of GOP bad, Donkeys good. The "swing" voters only get their news from Katie Couric and CNN. Logic and political savvy for these people is seldom given a chance.

It would be easy to destroy the Democrat claim that they would protect the children. The Democrat party constantly wants to sexualize children. From making sure kids have access to porn and to teaching them about 'safe' sex. If the Democrats were in power there response would be to lower the age of consent. It is a joke that the Dems are making this an issue.

The longer the Foley mess hangs around, the more you hear names like Clinton (Intern Humper in Chief) and Kennedy (How's the water down there Mary-Joe) being brought up. This stuff will disappear very soon, because when it comes to morals the DimocRATS are lagging way too far behind and the issue hurts them more.

Don't think so? I often hear DimocRAT analyst say that 'Republicans paid a price for impeaching the Pervert-in-Chief' - That's a real laugher - because reality indicates that the complete opposite is true. The Republican congress that impeached Clinton is still in power, and hopefully after the November election - they'll continue to be in power.

Besides, the latest polling indicates that most people don't give a crap about Foley and it won't affect their vote one way or the other.

Alia,
Your point is well taken. However, you must realize that 90% of the people who will vote this November are not as politically astute as you and the other Freepers on this website.

Most people vote from perception (perception is reality) and sound bites. They can't name the mad man ruling North Korea and are too busy watching football, the World Series, "Dancing with the Stars", and "Deal or No Deal" to be an informed electorate. But, bet your bottom dollar they've heard that Republican Congressmen are child molesters and they must vote Democrat.

But, I belabor my point. I appreciate your input and wisdom.

Then why is the GOP not doing it? Our guys always want to run and hide or start apologizing.

Yeah, that's from the same polling that said most Americans believe Madonna is a virgin.

What people tell the pollster and what they really think are two different things. It is a proven fact, while people say they loathe it, NEGATIVE CAMPAIGNING GETS RESULTS.

Since most Republicans dread the pointed finger mark, "You mean spirited conservative you", maybe they should avoid speaking negatively about a female in power (ala "Lazio violated my space" - Hillary), and just let Nancy define herself by airing the audio/video/transcripts.

Kill 'em with kindness and remain above the fray.

And I do understand your very astute points, no dems.

To lower ones' self to playing the Dem game, is to lose on scorecard points, but win in the large. Proving the adage that "no good deed goes unpunished".

Negotiating with the FoleyDems is tantamount to appeasement with dictators and feeds the "repubs and democrats are the same party" peeps who are in fact, using this argument to promote their own "political" parties.

But one thing I have learned through the years about those adhering to the "du jour" perception game? They value security more than they do the pro-homosexual party of the Democrats. Most don't want homosexuality to be a topic on the national table whatsoever. Or around their kids, or running their countries. They might not say so to the survey-takers; but they sure as hell say so in private venues.

Dems are anti-US. And now they are trying to forge ahead being "anti-gayness around the babies"? Dems say they are against war, but want a war on "gayness" in the Republican Party?

Sure, some knuckledraggers will be highlighted in MSM venues supporting the Dems Foley-gate, as tho this is a concensus opinion nationwide. But, it's a delusion.
