Yes, I don't like Parsley. Happy? Actually it's not so much a dislike, but a genuine concern about his motives.

But I'm just one of many. I know many republicans in local office. Many are concerned about Blackwell. Parsley is a major reason they cite. In addition, I talk to many people who are concerned about Parsley. The people who attend the church I attend (heavily conservative, heavily values voters) are voting for Ken, but have expressed concern over Blackwell's relationship with Parsley.

Is Parsley out to take over the world and sees Blackwell as the pawn in which to do it?

Parsley has said he wants a theocracy....

Wiping away sweat, Parsley says that a similar ''great awakening'' is about to cover the land.

The sermon that follows on this recent morning is tinged with politics.

Parsley tells worshippers that Americans must be ''Christocrats,'' becoming citizens of both their country and God's kingdom.

''And that is not a democracy; that is a theocracy,'' he says of the divine world. ''That means God is in control, and you are not.''

Parsley sees Blackwell as an end to his means. And to a point vice versa.

Okay...that's LOL funny.

Besides poking fun at Parsley in your post, is Parsley preaching a temporal theocracy or a spiritual one. Is he suggesting that the United States put away the republic and set up a theocracy?

Or are you just projecting your, what...fears on what Parsley says.

That was a quote from an actual sermon given last year.

Theocracy in the spiritual sense is already in place. Seems he was advocating that a Christocrat wants both.

Not from the sermon it does not. He is talking about the divine or spiritual world.

I am no fan of Rod Parsley or the types of preachers that are seen on TBN...but, I do think you have let your imagination or fear run away with you.

Have a great day!

Thank you for your thoughts, but I believe you are letting your defense of Blackwell (and he is overall a good man) get in the way of discerning the company he keeps.

I am more concerned about the real influence on government by the company Strickland keeps-- Pelosi, Conyers, Rangel et al.-- than any phobia about the impact Rod Parsley would have on creating a "theocracy".

No...I'm just not as scared of Rod Parsley as you are...and though I do not agree with much of what Parlsey says theologically... I do not consider him a danger to the Constitution.
