An Orange County businessman was sentenced to serve 50 years to life in prison for the videotaped molestation of a preschool girl during a two-year period.
David Hwang, 35, agreed to plead guilty to all charges under a deal that Superior Court Judge Gary Paer said would spare the girl and her family from reliving "the nightmare."
Hwang admitted to 60 counts of kidnapping for child molestation, lewd acts on a child under 14, oral copulation on a person under 14, anal or genital penetration with a foreign object of a child under 14, using a minor for sex acts and sodomy of a person under 14.
Prosecutors said Hwang and his wife, Sheila Marie Sikat, who is also charged, deceived the girl's parents into letting them "baby-sit" her to practice their parenting skills.
The couple was arrested in 2003, after authorities searching their home found a box they dubbed the "chest of horrors" containing 200 homemade videotapes.
Authorities said the couple filmed sex sessions with the girl, who was a relative. Some videos were shot in Orange County and others in the 1990s in Texas, where Hwang went to college and lived before moving to California.
Some tapes allegedly show Hwang molesting girls, sometimes with the participation of his wife or, in earlier years, a former girlfriend, who is also charged.
Investigators in Orange County and Texas have not been able to identify all the victims.
Hwang will not be eligible for parole until he is 77. He had faced a sentence of at least 93 years had he been convicted at trial.
His wife was scheduled to go to trial Nov. 17.

Dear Lord help this poor baby! She is going to need all the help the Lord can give her. I am physically ill seeing this! I can't even imagine the physical pain, never mind the emotional pain and damage done to this helpless little girl.

May he live one day short of parole and my news of his actions against this child spread through out all of the prison systems he is housed in.
May he have a long, horrendous, time as bubba and the boys use him violently as their ho....

IMO he is getting off too lightly, but lets look at his wife. Here is a woman who should really have a better insight to the horrors they placed on this little girl, nevertheless she not only filmed the abuse but she took an active part in it. She also should be hanged.
More than likely she will tstify that her husband coerced her or threatened her and get off light. IMO she should receive as harsh a penalty as he, if not more.
The mere thought of thse two penetrating that little girl woth object pisses me off so bad I would happily lynch the two of them to the nearest pole.

Somehow I don't think it is uncommon for these atrocities to occur between family members. What is anyone supposed to do when so many relatives and those who are intimate treat each like worthless objects? Trust noone and live in constant isolation and fear? Is there any hope for this society? Where is it?
If there is none than someone should just shoot me now!

I seriously doubt he'll ever make GP.
Hell, he may not make last in 23 hour lock-up.
A pretty sick puppy.

From the KABC-TV story online:
SANTA ANA, October 11, 2006 - A prosecutor says it's the "most horrendous" case of child molestation she's ever seen.
David Hwang of Rancho Santa Margarita was sentenced today to 50 years to life in prison after pleading guilty to 60 charges stemming from the videotaped sexual abuse of a four-year-old girl.
A prosecutor says Hwang kidnapped the girl on five separate occasions in order to molest her. During the molestations, prosecutors say Hwang produced four videotapes totaling almost four hours of explicit pornographic content featuring the girl.
And here's the lovely fella:

He also faces charges in Texas.

I hope he winds up in Texas. There will be a big welcome waiting for him.

Throw away the key.
For any sort of offense like this.
And violating trust with a family member (or a close friend of
a family) is just an extra wound.
Makes me even contemplate a death penalty for a crime that doesn't
involve a corpse.
Because it just poisons the well for all the family members that love
and look after young children.

I went back, looking for info at the time of their arrests.
This link indicates that they believe some of the abuse was committed in Laredo, TX (and might go back as far as 1995). One victim was an 8-month-old baby! I was curious what he did for a living. I don't know why current stories say he's an "Orange County businessman," since he was a lowly computer technician at a Newport Beach insurance firm. His wife worked at the same place, as an insurance representative.

What's the point of keeping hm alive? He can't be reformed and jail will be quite cruel and unusual for him. Hang him and reuse the rope on his wife. Save taxpayer dollars.

The day he's introduced to the GP, just show the rest of the inmates a few select clips from his videos (with crying-child audio if available) -- and send the guards on a long coffee-break...

Dear God, absolutely horrific. The scumbag got a deal that wasn't life without parole or death, to spare the child. He and his slimy lawyer 'won' for him again, got a 'deal' cut. Of course, the poor child, a relative no less, should be spared. He shouldn't.

An Orange County businessman was sentenced to serve 50 years to life in prison for the videotaped molestation of a preschool girl during a two-year period.
Didn't the parents notice any peculiar behavior going on with their daughter? Children of abuse tend to be withdrawn or timid. At the least, frightened or carry on about having to continually go to the abuser's home. An infant or a child not able to vocalize any emotions may have been a little harder to recognize a problem, but once a child is able to use their words, even if they are not coming out and telling you they are being abused, there are usually signs to be recognized.
I am in no way blaming the parents, but coming from a childhood of abuse I guess I always watch my daughters physical and emotional reactions around outside adults and even relatives for that matter. If she doesn't want to give someone a hug or show them affection, that is okay with me. And from the time she was of preschool age, I have always talked to her about appropriate touching and non appropriate touching. People today are sick, and I will KILL anyone who tries to cross that boundary with my child!
