Democrats Worried About Angelides Campaign
CBS ^ | Oct. 12, 2006 | Hank Plante

Posted on 10/12/2006 8:31:30 PM PDT by FairOpinion

And in fact some Democrats are now worrying openly about the Angelides campaign, which is behind in all the polls.

Senator Barbara Boxer was concerned when she was at the CBS 5 studios on Thursday. "Well so far Phil hasn't caught on and we'll never give up. He didn't do well in the primary until the last minute either," said Senator Boxer. "He's a wonderful human being, and the irony is it's just not coming across. Its not coming across in the debate, its not coming across in the tv ads and I feel like telling people 'Please know this guy is one of the best people ever.' It's just not coming across and its making me crazy because I know he'd be a great governor."

My coffee table has more personality and more leadership potential. Not to mention a whole lot more good ideas.

Well, these are the same California idiot voters who elected Barbara Boxer, so why wouldn't it?

I'm not hugely concerned about Arnold Schwarzenegger. The $1 billion question is, how will the impolsion of the Angelides effect Tom McClintock, Charles Poochigan, Tony Strickland, and Claude Parrish?

"He's a great guy" isn't a great endorsement.

The fools are those that remain. Anyone with any sense would have sold their absurdly overpriced house (thanks to liberal idiocy) and retired in Kentucky or Ohio by now.

Led by Schwarzenegger, GOP candidates seek gains in California

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1718405/posts

The race for California's lieutenant governor appears even, and GOP candidates are in competitive contests for insurance commissioner, controller and secretary of state, polls suggest.

Besides governor, secretary of state is the only statewide office now held by a Republican.

What is the GOP up against in California? Democrats outnumber Republicans by 1.3 million voters, and the state delivered double-digit margins for Democratic presidential candidates in 2004 and 2000.

Not surprisingly, party leaders are uneasy with the campaign's trajectory and the prospect that it might not be a banner year for California Democrats.

Angelides Seen as a Drag on the Party. Dems fear a repeat of '94 ticket-wide collapse

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1716106/posts

"Despite the left-moderate tilt of the state, Democrats held sizable leads in only two of eight statewide partisan races: Feinstein's Senate reelection effort and former Gov. Jerry Brown's bid for attorney general. In the other down-ballot races, Democrats were either tied or winning narrowly."

If the Dems are demoralized by Angelids trailing and Republicans, conservatives and all sensible people turn out to vote for Arnold AND Republicans, there could well be several Republicans elected, starting to turn CA around.

But if conservatives stay home, the Dems might continue to win.

Yea, that's what anyone should want, a wonderful human being, never the less an idiot socialist/communist. God, if this doesn't blatantly show that Democrats are all about 'feelings' vs rational thinking, nothing does.

Assuming you coffee table has four legs, do all four legs stand against higher taxes and government waste? If the answer is yes, you may want to run it in a future political race.

Angelides looks like a nerd, sounds like a dickhead, and has the political beliefs of a far leftist. Even Californians are smarter than that.

Almost reminds me of the Dems desperately trying to pawn the defective product Kerry off on the public.

Sure he has no personality, he's wishy-washy, looks like a total goob, BUT...

Actually, the dems should be worried about a whole lot more than just Angelides.

They're in really big trouble and the media is covering for them and trying to say the dems are definitely going to win back the House - THAT'S A BUNCH OF BUNK!!

Anyone with any sense would have sold their absurdly overpriced house (thanks to liberal idiocy)

Just an honest question: how is liberal idiocy to blame for overpriced houses? High taxes I understand, but overpriced houses?

I would think a booming economy, low interest rates, and deregulation in lending rules (all of which I do NOT associate with liberals) are the factors that have lead to overpriced houses. Hey, if people want to pay it, who am I (or you) to stop them.
