I hadn't been aware of this previously but it certanly makes a lot of sense and helps to explain how this jerk got his seething hatred for America, This reinforces the template of how the Commies and the hard Left never went away after the fall of the Soviet Union, they just went underground, primarily in the "Eco" organizations because they provide the best aboveground mechanism for destroying America through it's economy and it's culture. That also makes them natural bedfellows of the Islamofascists, as they share many common goals.
