My pleasure - amazing how swift the turnaround is coming in Canada - from Wimp Appeasers to Warrior Leaders!

They just need to run ads of those 10ft tall marijuana plants and they will be swamped with applications. :)

Are they soldiers or firemen? Bingo. I though they were disingenuous from the start. The mood is set, the suspense if building and... Bang, you are a friggin social worker/fireman/emergency response team for natural disaster.
But it a weird way it seems to fit Canada very well.

But it a weird way it seems to fit Canada very well Correct, our Military is often called in to assist in civil emergencies. A heavy snowstom several years ago brought the army into Toronto to help with the snow clean-up - and they're making a pretty good account of themselves on the fighting fron in Afghanistan. So they can walk and chew gum at the same time.. I kinda like ours the way it is.
Given the anemic response to Katrina last year, it's obvious that your's isn't set up that way - and in a weird way, it seems to fit the U.S. very well. ;)

The Canadian military play a diverse role from domestic to foreign, from peacekeeper to peacemaker.
How can anyone not be inspired and proud of how far they've come?

Hey friend. It's been a long dry spell for me from FR. I had a hip replacement in July and it was NOT fun. However, all seems to be well now. At least I can sit for more than 20 minutes LOL. I have kept up with the news however.
In addition to the surgery, my nephews son vanished from a local nightclub 16 days ago. It's been an absolute nightmare for the family. I have a very large family and extended family. Everyone's life has come to a complete halt. CO

Ask anyone from the NOLA or anywhere in the Katrina affected area about the U.S. Coast Guard (A full part of the US Military) and your will find a different tale from the one you heard from the Media.

These ads remind me of a gritty Mickey Spillane novel (kudos to Ayn Rand):
One Lonely Night
"NOBODY ever walked across the bridge, not on a night like this. The rain was misty enough to be almost fog-like, a cold gray curtain that separated me from the pale ovals of white that were faces locked behind the steamed-up windows of the cars that hissed by. Even the brilliance that was Manhatten by night was reduced to a few sleepy, yellow lights off in the distance."
"Some place over there I had left my car and started walking, burying my head in the collar of my raincoat, with the night pulled in around me like a blanket. I walked and I smoked and I flipped the spent butts ahead of me and watched them arch to the pavement and fizzle out with one last wink."
