"May God bless him, protect him, and comfort him."
And may God keep this poor baby's biological mother away from him.
I just fear this will be one of those cases where the woman has a change of heart in two or three years and decides she wants "another chance."

Its a sin to leave a baby out to freeze to death. A sin, yes. And it's a crime. And the DSS will eventually track down the mother and "reunite them" instead of urging prosecution and making sure the baby never gets within 1000 yards of the beast who bore her.

It's both a sin and a crime to do such a thing.

Rich people get nice clinics (the cockroaches are just another aspect of the terrific service environment). MassHealth (state medicaid) covers abortion for poor people. No excuse.
(I know you weren't making one -- just putting it out there.)

I once read an 1870's newspaper account about a rural California blacksmith and his wife who woke one morning to the sound of a baby crying in a basket on their porch.
No one knew who the mother could be -- there were no women "in the family way" in the village. It was thought the woman had surreptitiously selected the blacksmith's house, knowing the couple did not have children.
The paper reported that the blacksmith could be heard singing, "It's good to be a father" while he fashioned a cradle.
The event was seen as a good omen by the entire community.

this is a symptom of a society that does not value human life. Abortion was just the beginning. We're into the second generation of Americans who've never known a time in their lives that it wasn't legal to kill a segment of the population.

When abortion is offered to us as a sign that we are becoming MORE civilized, advanced, tolerant, and, gosh darn it, people like us now, now that we kill babies ... it just seems to me so obvious that the promises are bogus when along with government sponsored infanticide, we get all these amateur efforts, and, as I say, end up with children exposed as Oedipus was.
Similarly, back when I thoroughly endorsed the concept of Artificial Birth Control, one of the great arguments was, fewer unwanted children, less bastardy. But what actually happened?
We develop "no fault divorce" in hopes that one can shed a spouse more easily than one can rid oneself of unwanted pounds. And now we are told that of couples living together, those who are married (to one another, not to some other party to be named later) are not in the majority.
Leaving aside other forms of moral analysis, when ALL the promises of the social liberals prove wrong, why do we have to continue to pretend that they are saying something credible?
