How can a person sell land and think it (the sale) doen't alter his ownership? If I'm following this story correctly, Reid is saying that he "sold" the land to an LLC Partnership in exchange for joining the partnership. As a partner, he claims that he still "owned" the land.
So, Reid either failed to report that he sold the land, or he failed to report that he had a partner interest in the LLC. His partner already said that it was a "handshake" deal, and that there wasn't any paperwork between them.
