PERSONAL INFO ONLINE

This is a vanity for a SCARY (to me anyway) new "service." Try typing in your real name and choose your home state and see what pops up. Then try the names of loved ones or folks you know. You can do all states or just one.

Couldn't find anything about me, but, my uncle and cousin both donated $500.00 to the National Republican Congressional committee. And $250.00 to Sam Brownback.

All the big fish in a little pond where I live seems to be Republicans.

I do not know for certain, but the website itself states the best way to keep off their listing is to change your address to a PO Box. It still won't help for old addresses in the database though. You could also just use a your first initial and last name on the PO Box.

The "Personal Privacy" industry will see some big growth in the near future I imagine.

This site has been up for quite some time. My first visit to it showed a satellite view of your house. Not in real-time. If I remember correctly you had to pay to get an up close and personal shot. I believe this feature is no longer available. BUT, it is only a matter of time when anyone will be able to get a bird's eye view of your neighbor's backyard party. We are all an some camera anymore. 1984 has arrived.

> Ummmm yup, that's what THIS is!

So I saw upon clicking the link.

Look. A girl at work was worried about a stalker who kept calling her. A little detective work with Zabasearch and the reverse phone book, and we got the creep off her back. So it's not necessarily a bad thing.

I thought about taking the perp down and holding him there until back up arrived.... but....... I decided against that action. He looked to be about 25 and strong. LOL!

I scared the pee-wadding out of him (as we used to say) because he knew I knew where he lived and he didn't know squat about me.

"Now any of my students can find me and those whom I've failed or had suspended can do me great damage'

Oh, my. Have you considered teaching while wearing a burkha?

Every now and then, when I'm feeling depressed, I Google my name to see who I could have been.

That always picks me up.

Whatdaya.... some kinda wise guy? Nyuck Nyuck Nyuck

It's not quite so funny when you consider I have had three sitting in jail for armed robbery and a couple on parole for attempted murder. Those just the ones I know about and I found out by accident. How would you like to have some convicted felons mad at you and knowing all the small details of your life...available at the click of a button? Most of the punks wouldn't set foot in a courthouse to look up records. But gather it anonymously over the web? You bet. Teaching as deep into the inner city as I do has always contained an element of risk and that's okay. I've been at this for 17 years and never been hurt yet...although I know teachers that have been badly injured by their kids. I've only got a few more years until I can retire.

I read all that while I was there. That wont get your info off the site. TorF dot com has an process to go the zaba and follow a series of clicks to get your info removed. when I did it,the last click to remove your info was gone. So you could not take the info off. all that text is saying is for future info.

this is the directions for Truthorfiction.com to remove your info from zabasearch.com keep it handy and when zaba puts the link back up you can delete your info.

hope it helps

There is a procedure for removing or correcting your information, but it's difficult to find. You need to go to the site, click the "Terms" link at the bottom of the page then go toward the bottom of that window where there is a "ZABATools" link. They also have a page on their site that gives hints of how to reduce the amount of personal information that becomes available through public sources.

What is bothersome to me is that I have an unlisted telephone number yet they have my current home address. So, I have to assume it's coming from state drivers licenses data base. Whatever the source, I don't like it.

Just when I thought the cops couldn't find me!

Nothing so far on my address, only someone calling me a girl dog. I did ask google and a few other online directories to drop my name after getting nasty mail to my home.
