A protest in London against the publication of a cartoon depicting the prophet Mohammed as a terrorist incensed an Aberporth man, who painted an anti-Muslim slogan on a white sheet and draped it over his garden fence.
The words in bold red paint stated: "Kill all Muslims who threaten us and our way of life. Enoch Powell was right."
Father of two Gary John Mathewson, who was arrested for displaying the banner, told a court: "This won't stop until there is a Muslim president in the White House." continued...
And referring to MP Jack Straw questioning whether Muslim women should wear face veils he asked: "Are you going to arrest him?"
When prosecutor Maggie Hughes pointed out that the banner did not mention extremists Mathewson said: "That's what I meant by those who threaten us and our way of life.'"
Adding that during the protest in London a Muslim was dressed as a suicide bomber he asked: "Why was he not arrested?"
One of his neighbours, a retired Army officer with 23 years service, told the court he reported the matter to the police because he feared a visit from Muslim extremists.
Mathewson, aged 35, of 79 Brynglas, Aberporth, who was represented by Colin Taylor, pleaded not guilty to a charge of religiously aggravated disorderly conduct in February this year.
Complainant Ian Pennington said the banner was pointed out to him by his coalman, and he later went for a closer look and wrote down the words.
Replying to Miss Hughes he said: "I thought it was stupid and a rather silly and ridiculous thing to do.
"This could have come to the attention of Islamic extremists, and we could have had a visitation," he said.
Pointing to the Twin Towers incident in New York Mr Taylor told the witness: "When three and a half thousand people are killed in Manhattan and elsewhere is it not acceptable for a reasonable man to protest.
"I put it to you that you were not particularly perturbed. If you were you would have ripped the banner off the fence," he said.
Finding Mathewson guilty presiding magistrate Anne Rees said she and her colleagues felt the words on the banner were likely to cause someone distress, and they did not find it as reasonable.
The defendant was given a conditional discharge for two years and ordered to pay £150 costs.
Before leaving the court the defendant and Mr Pennington shook hands.
Convicted of having a banner displayed? That's a crime in England? oy.
And yet this piece of 9th Century filth walks free on the streets of Britain.
I better get rid of my tag line.
Now, just to keep that from happening here...
...and that sickening attitude almost makes more "visitations" by these animals a sure thing. We need to stand up and fight these islamic terrorists and extremists tooth and nail, and they need to know we are not afraid to do so.
Cowering before them emboldens them and leads to more slaughter.
So they print the guy's address.
Stay armed...fight legislation that would disarm us tooth and nail.
The UK is commiting suicide.
I'm sick of this garbage! The people who preach hate, murder and death are not arrested, but this person is!
"Hate crime",you see.We simply *cannot* have camel fornicators getting all hot and bothered, can we?
very good.... mind if I steal it??
Islam is far closer to conquering England than the Third Reich ever got.
Evidently English grammar was not taught in Ms Hughes' school. If Mr. Mathewson had intended his condemnation to apply to all Muslims (as opposed to just the ones who threaten), the message would have required a comma between the clauses of the first sentence.
The banner would probably be illegal in the US too since it is a direct incitement of violence ("Kill all muslims..."). If you live in a civilized country, try acting like it instead of sinking to the enemy's level.
Oh, dear. Enoch Powell was right ping.
Imagine living in a country in the throes of death??
It wouldn't surprise me if its a crime in the U.S. as well.

At least we know there's one man in England with his balls still intact!
England: No written constitution; No Bill of Rights; No First Amendment. However, they do have an "Official Secrets Act", *that"s* a dandy!
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." -Manuel II Paleologus
They must have a lease back program there. ; )
Just take a look at what happens when one introduces them to panties and you will have second thoughts about your statement about murderous terrorists.
Yah... where's Margaret Thatcher when you need him!?
ummm, it's "her". -even though she might have been mistaken for a man :)
"I seem to smell the stench of appeasement in the air."
In all candor, I would say that I would expect equal treatment under the law. Show me where a muslim has been arrested or charged for any crime at all for inciting the overthrow of our entire western culture and the killing of infidels specifically.
You can't show me that because it doesn't happen.
Although I agree in principle that incitement of violence is against the law, he was specific in inciting the violence against those who promise violence to us. I would pray that western culture could be inciting to anything prior to our capitulation.
Too much here. I understand why our founding fathers left that place. Ridiculous.
This is supposed to be a joke poster.
Neither the truth, nor logic, nor grammar are a defence in Al Britain.
It's a conditional expression of self defense.
Where did you get your edumacation, the NY SLime School of Misinformation?
Methinks you should take a refresher course in "comprehension" or learn how to read.
This poor patriot's sign read: "Kill all Muslims who threaten us and our way of life. Enoch Powell was right."
Like the Lame Stream Media, you "conveniently" left our the preposition "WHO TRHEATEN US AND OUR WAY OF LIFE."
It did not simply state as you INCORECTLY assert: "KILL ALL MUSLIMS!" You, friend, need to "get a life!!!" PS Read my tag.

A quote that I found on your home page is appropriate to the topic at hand -- as follows.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves."
-- Winston Churchill
10/16/2006 - The White House
PRESIDENT BUSH: "Good evening and "Ramadan Karim." Welcome to the White House. Laura and I are really glad you're here. This is the sixth year that we have been pleased to host an Iftaar at the White House. We're honored to be with you and once again we're honored to pay tribute to the month of Ramadan."
"Islam is a religion that brings hope and comfort to more than a billion people around the world. It has transcended racial and ethnic divisions. It has given birth to a rich culture of learning and literature and science. And tonight we honor the traditions of a great faith by hosting the Iftaar here at the White House."
"For Muslims in America and around the world, Ramadan is a special time of prayer and fasting, contemplation of God's greatness, and charity and service to those in need. And for people of all faiths, it is a good time to reflect on the values we hold in common, including love of family, gratitude to God, the importance of community, and a commitment to tolerance and religious freedom."
"America is a land of many faiths, and we welcome and honor the Muslim faith in our nation. Our society is enriched by our Muslim citizens. Your commitment to your faith reminds us all of the precious gift of religious freedom in our country. America is a more hopeful nation because of the talents and generosity and compassion of our Muslim citizens."
FreeRepublic Thread: President Bush Attends Iftaar Dinner at the White House
Official White House Article: President Bush Attends Iftaar Dinner at the White House (provided for verification) also: Ramadan 2006 (2005 2004 2003 2002 also available)
If this hasn't brought on a case of warm fuzzies yet, keep in mind this is the president that is hesitant to mention of Christ or Christians during Christmas and Easter on the official White House web site. President Bush also remained absolutely silent about the two news journalists, one an American, Steve Centanni, abducted by Muslims in Gaza and forced to convert to Islam on camera or die. He likewise offered no support to Pope Benedict XVI when the Pope quoted a medieval transcript that mentioned this practice in the wake of the kidnappings and forced conversions.
Then wander over to the recent US Supreme Court decision this month to not hear the case involving the teaching of Muslim prayers and religion in public schools. Keep in mind the Christian religion is not afforded this accommodation in public schools.
This is war...and it is a war of cultures and civilization with these extreme Islamics. They have defined it that way, and then backed up that definition with their own muderous actions again, and again, and again. If someone threatens my nation and way of life, who wants to either destroy it and kill me (which these extreme Islamic terrorists do) or wants to subjugate me to their religion and law...then that it what it comes down to, killing them until they either beg for unconditional surrender or until they are not around any more to threaten us in this way.
We had to come to that same mentality in World War II against the Nazis and the IMperial Japanese...if this getrs worse, I expect we will come to that mentality again...and make no mistake, it is a ciovilized mentality under those conditions, becuase it preserves civilization against murderous, tyranical enemies who would destroy it.
"If you live in a civilized country, try acting like it..."
Is peaceful protest not civilized?
Maybe they should call it, Not-So-Great Britain.
