Bloomberg's Car Stolen, Aide Beaten By Thieves

(AP) NEW YORK A personal employee of Mayor Michael Bloomberg was beaten by thieves who then carjacked the billionaire's car Wednesday morning in New Jersey, authorities said.

The employee was driving the 2001 Lexus in Hackensack, N.J., on an errand for the mayor shortly before 9 a.m. when he was approached by a woman who came to the window to ask for money, police said. As he declined and began to roll up the window, a man got into the passenger seat and punched him in the face.

"They force him out and take off," said Hackensack police Capt. Frank Lomia.

The car was found about two hours later, abandoned on the side of the road in Fair Lawn, N.J. Police were looking for the two suspects.

Bloomberg's employee was not seriously injured and his name was not released. He is one of many staffers who take care of Bloomberg's personal business and his homes, including his townhouse in Manhattan and country house in upstate New York.

"I notice even police chiefs act as if the criminals are owed. Liberalism 101."

I hope the thief realizes what kind of fines he's facing if he smokes in it.

Bloomberg, being a New Yorker, probably had the old wreck hijacked so he could collect the insurance!

You get punished more severely for smoking than for carjacking a car. But this is liberalism's perception of what passes for societal menace today.

LOL!

You're probably right. A city that steals together, stays together!

Are you kidding? A single chop shop in Brooklyn can employ up to six people! Then you have the carjacker himself, as well as the middlemen, insurance adjuster, etc. and a carjacking generates more than a dozen high paying jobs for the city!

Has this idiot lived in the city more than one day? You use door locks and you don't roll the window down far enough for them to put their arm inside to pop the locks if they are already locked. Dumba$$!

I'll tell you this though- the kids that stole the car weren't kids from Boston- because after all, stealing might injure the kids-so Boston banned car jackings- can't beleive Boston banned tag football and catch for kids-

And who's dumb enough to drive around with the passenger door unlocked?

Exactly. Why would you ever drive around with your passenger door unlocked in a city? I'll have to ask a friend of mine - she did it in a downtown area and ended up running drugs for thugs for a couple of hours until they finally released her.

Do you think perhaps he opened the passenger door to let the woman into the car, and a guy jumped in instead? After all, he would never admit that...Right?

Dude....ALWAYS lock the doors in NJ/NY. I have driven rentals there many times. Union City, Jersey City, East Orange. Why this guy rolled the window down, nobody knows. Inside job.
