Max Cleland Gets Cozy With Code Pink
Thursday, October 19, 2006 | Kristinn

Posted on 10/19/2006 1:11:16 PM PDT by kristinn

One more high profile Democrat has gotten cozy with the anti-American group Code Pink. Max Cleland, former U.S. Senator from Georgia and a Vietnam veteran who was grieviously wounded in a grenade accident, met Code Pink leader and murderous Marxist dictator groupie Medea Benjamin at a Napa, California, benefit concert for the National Veterans Foundation headlined by Code Pink supporter Willie Nelson and the Doobie Brothers.

A photo of Cleland posing with his arm around Benjamin's waist is posted at a Code Pink web site with the following description:

Another big treat was to meet former Senator Max Cleland from Georgia, a veteran who lost both his legs and his right arm in the Vietnam war. Cleland was "Swiftboated" during his reelection campaign in 2002--he lost the race when his opponent ran these horrible ads questioning his patriotism! We told him about our Peace Pledge and he was delighted.

"We've got to get our soldiers out of Iraq!," he insisted. He thanked us heartily for our efforts, and gave us big hugs!

Link to Code Pink page with photo of Cleland and Benjamin.

Cleland recently hosted a rally in Johnstown, Pennsylvania for fellow Code Pink ally Rep. John Murtha.

I'm not too good with photos. Could someone help out with posting and preserving it before it disappears down the memory hole?

"was grieviously wounded in a grenade accident"

Who was too dumb/drunk to handle a grenade properly.

Jesus, what a has-been convention. It's not like these people have anything better to do than get together and rag on Bush and the war.

Thanks. If you're feeling adventurous, over at this Pinko page can be found a photo of Pinko Nancy Mancias with Cleland.

Further down that page are photos of pink- fingered Code Pinkos mocking the 12 million Iraqi voters who braved terror attacks to vote for their first freely elected government.

Cleland was not swiftboated in 2002. No one questions his military service. The good voters of GA realized he was voting with Kennedy and booted him out of the Senate.

Code Pink gave $650,000 in "humanitarian aid" to people that devoted Marxist Medea Benjamin (author of three glowing books on the Cuban Revolution) acknowledges in her own words as "the other side", i.e., residents of Fallujah, a city known to be sympathetic to the terrorists. And not one cent, much less $650,000 to the families of the Marines killed in Fallujah.

But that's to be expected of Code Pink. That is the history of the people in Code Pink.

In December of 1986, Code Pink's Sandra Brim attempted to send "humanitarian aid" to victims on "both sides" in El Salvador. They even got the Archbishop there to lend his good name to the effort (like they use Murtha and Cleland today). But unlike Murtha and Cleland, the Archbishop rebeled when he found that Sandra Brim was going to send ALL of the aid to the FLMN.

Sandra Brim of Code Pink's aid to the FLMN also included getting a doctor for Nidia Diaz two months after Nidia Diaz's communists murdered four US Embassy Marines as they ate dinner in civilian clothes UNARMED. Again, as is typical of the members of Code Pink, Sandra Brim did NOTHING to help the families of Handwork, Weber, Davidson and Kwiatkowski, the Marines murdered.

The names of the front groups change, from Medical Aid For El Salvador to Code Pink, but the people and their script remain the same. Lie to the American public that you provide humaniarian aid while in fact you raise money for those killing our troops. And when are troops are killed by the people Code Pink helps, do nothing for those troops.

Now that it's on the record, I demand an answer from John Murtha and Max Cleland, "Why are you working with Code Pink?"

"...benefit concert for the National Veterans Foundation headlined by Code Pink supporter Willie Nelson and the Doobie Brothers."

Willie Nelson I can see supporting Code Pink, but the Doobie Brothers? Of course, I guess I shouldn't be surprised with a group named after a marijuana cigarette.

I am disappointed - I really like(d) their music.

sigh.

"We've got to get our soldiers out of Iraq!," he insisted.

Be that as it may, I certainly hope they have their grenades secured better than you did, before boarding the helicopters.

This guy asses me up.

I give him all the respect in the world for his service, but he pisses me off to no end by allowing the world to think his injuries were suffered as a result of some act of war. He actually has encouraged it. I know, I have attended some of his speeches personally, I have heard him speak.

To his credit, he has never actually stated that his injuries came about from combat, but he allows the listener to come to that conclusion and does nothing to dissuade one from forming such impressions.

Despicable, yet tragic.

He plays on the emotions of his listeners, big time.
