According to Fedeindustrias and other business panels, Venezuelas inflation is expected to soar to 19% by the years end, 7% higher than the central bank anticipated. Inflation climbed to 15.3% in Sept., the highest and fastest in Latin America.
Central bank President, Gaston Parra, blames the inflation on the governments sharp increase in spending. Until now, we have adopted the prudent, necessary measures to combat inflation, says Parra.
Enrique Alvarez, an economist with IDEAGlobal, says The message is clear: there's little policy coordination between the government and the central bank and that's where the failure to control inflation lies.

anyone read the 2mb pdf file titled "How to destory a country" for Zimbawae. Very similar parrallels
Yeah, I hear North Korea is a great place to raise the kids, too!
"¡Somos numero uno! ¡Somos numero uno!"
Hugo spending on himself and buying votes...sounds like a democrap.
Sorry but I must be juvenile for a moment :
'Venezuela Has Biggest and Fatest Dictator in Latin America'
The Government does spend like mad...
What do you think they're doing with all that oil revenue? Banking it??!
May the curses of Pig-Faced Hugo thwart and frustrate his evil ways until he is thrown out of office. The slop of the hog pen is too good for this cretin. Venezuela deserves better than this ugly thug Hugo swine.
He belongs on the top bunk over Noriega in a Georgia jail!
Well, that makes him smarter than our central bankers. Bernanke and all the other Greenspan clones think inflation is caused by economic growth, low unemployment and other good things.
The government there is extremely dependent upon oil prices staying this high. Countries, like people, expand their spending to fit their income. Revenues go down and the crap hits the fan. A serious decline in oil prices would cause serious problems for them.
Yeah, I think Elton John said North Korea was OK but Mars wasn't the kind of place to raise your kids....in fact it's cold as hell.
He needs to be as stupid as Noriega and declare war on us.
I remember him mouthing off about how he was going to distribute a million or so AK-47's to his people to ward off some paranoid delusion of a US invasion.
Tell me where to send a check, Hugo. I'll help pay for it.
That reminds me. I've been meaning to photoshop Sheehan watching porn on her computer.
I heard that she watched porn. Was it a joke or is it a reported fact?
If she did, then why hasn't it been all over the news?
Her love of porn chat rooms was discussed on Hannity and Colmes. Here's a link discussing this.
The Venezuelan opposition has at least picked one candidate (rather than have a collection of groups), and so they have a stronger chance of ousting Chavez than they had.
Mr. Morales of Bolivia is a close second-runner-up.
That was the first thing crossed my mind too...Carter.
Let's print money, money, money....just like ol' Jimmy...
Let's print money, lots of money, must like ol' Jimmy...
No surprise. Massive inflation to confiscate savings and destroy the middle class was one of the many evil things Lenin and the Bolsheviks did to consolidate their hold on Russia after the October Revolution. Chavez is just following the Bolshevik blue print. Mass starvation will come shortly thereafter. We can look forward to the same kind of thing if the DemonRats win here.
I think one of the reasons for the cancellation of the contract with Spain for the supply of jets and other military equipment was concern on Spain's part over the stability of the VZ economy and its ability to pay. Ostensibly, it was because the price was too high from the VZ point of view, since we would not let Spain sell them our technology and the French and Israelis, who were willing to sell them similar technology, were going to charge a lot more for it. However, even though Zapatero and his merry Socialist band are big supporters of Chavez, they didn't sound exactly devastated by the collapse of the contract, and there was mention of some concern about the future solvency of VZ.
Unlike either Elton John or North Korea, Mars can be fixed.
What do you mean, "All that oil revenue?" The price of gas is about ten cents a gallon in Venezuela, because they are boycotting their own customers.
>> Unlike either Elton John <<
Elton John doesn't need fixing. Gay dogs don't make puppies.
At least the cost of our professional help is affordable.
We ain't seen nothin yet. Any bets on where the Venezuelan inflation rate goes? Over 25% anyone?
