I think so too. They want to win. The ripple effect on the Dems if they don't retake the House is hard to calculate.
To: onyx
Yup but you never know I mean we all thought in 2000 that our bloved UnderWood had it in the bag but all sudden he lost to that worthless idot Bob Wise
To: mainepatsfan
Outside they will cliam Moral Victory but inside i bet it will be a civil war in that party
To: mainepatsfan
Remeber the Dem's live in there own little world
To: StoneWall Brigade
Yup. They'd try to keep it hidden from the public but that's not possible with the new media.
To: StoneWall Brigade
Right. There's hope and votes to be cast. Remember to tell democrats they vote on Wednesday, November 8, 2006.

I don't see what your pessimism is about looks like Shelley Capito is in a good position and if Byrdie is such a lock and king of WV, was is he buying ads.
West Virginians, especially those in the Charleston-Huntington market, who sit down in the evening to watch Dancing With the Stars or CSI may see a few familiar faces during the commercial breaks. Several political figures, including U.S. Sen. Robert C. Byrd, D-W.Va.; U.S. Rep. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., and Massey Energy chief Don Blankenship, have bought air time on the areas TV stations between now and Nov. 7, Election Day. Blankenship might lead the way. The Mingo County resident, who spent more than $3 million to help defeat a Democratic state Supreme Court justice in 2004, has vowed to spend whatever it takes to put a majority of Republicans in the state House of Delegates. On Wednesday, Blankenship reported spending another $119,622 to get his political messages out, bringing his total at that time to $627,429. That apparently includes the 218 advertising spots he has purchased at WCHS-TV to run between Oct. 17 and Nov. 6, the day before the election. That time cost more than $50,000, while another 82 spots on sister station WVAH-TV cost almost $20,000
JMO, Shelley wins despite your doom and gloom and somewhat trollish prognostications, stonewall.

Even if the Dem's only pick up 8 seats they will claim Moral Victory I am sure that even if the Demons picked up only one seat, the MSM and the DNC would hail it as the Second Coming.
Whatever.
I'll leave this all in the hands of God (the real one).

Matthews compares Obama with Tiger, and Oprah. Superstar, he calls him. Tsk, tsk. Liberals will never learn.
People don't love Tiger because he's black. They love him because he has 54 (!) PGA wins, taking enormous risks when necessary. He's on track to being the greatest golfer of all time. He's earned every adulation through hard work, personal achievement and incredible talent. He is also a polished gentleman...who never plays the race card.
People don't love Oprah because she's black. They love her because she's one of the most successful business persons EVER...a polished gentlewoman who never "gets in the face" of her guests. She turned a successful TV program into a media empire. And she doesn't play the race card.
Now, what has Obama done? Well...he's black! He got elected to the Senate, running against the disgraceful secret divorce records of a weak Republican opponent. He took no controversial positions and has introduced no meaningful legislation. He's played it safe, aligning himself whenever possible with fence-straddlers like McCain on feel-good themes like campaign finance reform. He's a chimera created on the PC altar of the MSM, just the latest example of the MSM falling all over themselves because a black man is "articulate" or "good looking" (how racist is that?!).
The folks will see through it in a heartbeat.

The chauvenistic dem party chose mr. osama obama. I saw a very long interview of him and his wife. She is extremely intelligent, articulate, and well educated. She would have been a far more dangerous candidate. He is simply an empty suit, while her comments were well thought out and substantive.
Same with Elizabeth Edwards, she is far more intelligent than her pretty boy empty headed husband.

Isn't it very telling that the Dems actually fear that tactic?
To: YaYa123
The new talking point among the media, ALL the media. America is desperate for a uniter, not a divider like Bush.
Americans want us to all get along.
WHAT NONSENSE. There isn't a dem breathing that wants to get along with a republican, any republican. They want to destroy the republican party, the country too if need be. They simply wnat everything their way or NO way.

To: StoneWall Brigade
The press will speculate about a battle between the left and the "moderates". Not going to happen. The moonbats have taken over and the battle will be among them.
To: OldFriend
He is definitely a media creation --- what has he accomplished in the US Senate? I have not seen or heard about his wife. I am happy to take accept your opinion of her.

Thanks AB, Good Morning to all. Congtats for the topsters.
Fox News Sunday": Senators Richard Lugar, John Warner, Joe Biden and Carl Levin - coming out as closet democrat, he lost Conservative audience. "Trying" to challenge Clinton, he lost his liberal audience. Looks like now he he is going after AARP audience. Add KKK Byrd to make it full circle.
Is that the Sir Richard Branson who promised to aid Clinton's global fraud fund?
