I remember one time where I "HAD" to use a subway restroom and it was indescribable, it was like the scene in "Trainspotting".

I haven't seen the movie because I heard that it was about drug addicts and that didn't seem very appealing to me.  I can guess what you mean, however, and you remind me of the reasons why I make a point of always being heavily armed whenever I am likely to need a public restroom.  Unfortunately, this is an option that is normally unavailable to NYC residents, or so it was last time I checked.

I'm disgusted just remembering it now, but we're talking a super emergency stomach virus situation, words can't describe

I'm very sorry to hear of your illness, and your experience refutes the arguments of posters who have been saying "no REAL New Yorker goes to a public restroom!".  Needing a restroom is something that is oftentimes an event that can't be planned, and if you are a taxpayer you deserve some minimal accommodation to the needs of a law-abiding, sane citizen in dire need.  As it stands now, your tax dollars serve to prop up and accommodate the perverts while causing unspeakable difficulties for normal, sane persons such as yourself.

. The city is a lot better if you're rich.

That's always been the case, but if you are paying taxes for the construction, maintenance and safety of a public restroom, your tax dollars are just as green as Donald Trump's.

This is crazy. As a woman, I would not feel safe with a (wo)man in the restroom with me.

When you use the term "(wo)man" I gather that you are referring to these perverted males who manipulate the liberal laws in order to legally get their perverse sexual gratification?  Your discomfort is proof of your good mental health.

They need to build a special restroom for them, the sign would read "Freaks"

I would prefer that they be segregated from society and given medical treatment for their mental disorders and psychoses, rather than giving them special rights and permitting them to further degrade the quality of life for everyone else.

So the MTA has agreed to allow a criminal element a safe hiding place where they can dispose of evidence while the police are forced to wait on their pleasure.

As well as a safe location from which they can ogle, verbally harass (or worse) any woman or girl with impunity who either doesn't know of a different restroom or is in such a dire state that she simply couldn't make it, and uses this public rest facility as a last or only resort.

Now that they (perverts and criminals) have a clear legal standing for being in a Women's restroom, the police have one less tool available to them in their fight against crime and criminals..

You don't see my logic because you aren't thinking.

If all a person has to do is wear a dress to enter a womens bathroom unchallenged, how long do you think its going to be before pedofiles and predators start doing it?

Your apologizing for this guys mental illness and arguing that everyone should pander to it is insane.

Some of the scariest people in New York won't be allowed on the streets for Halloween.

The city's 639 paroled sex offenders will be under a strict curfew on trick-or-treat night, ordered to stay indoors from 3 p.m. to 6 a.m.

"No matter where they live, they better be home and adhere to these restrictions on Halloween," warned Scott Steinhardt, a spokesman for the state Division of Parole.

The pervert parolees will not even be allowed to open the door to costumed treat seekers.

Parole officers will be out in full force to ensure sex offenders don't come in contact with children, said Anthony Ellis, the executive director of the Division of Parole.

Ellis said parole officers will be conducting surveillance, making unannounced visits or calling to make sure offenders are home.

Anyone violating curfew will immediately be taken into custody and face revocation proceedings.

Stoat comment:  Although this is far from the optimal solution (preventing known perverts and sex offenders from living near normal people to begin with)

it seems that at least NYC is aware that these monsters do pose a hazard and are doing a 'community eyewash' effort on Halloween.

The obvious question, of course, is:  " Okay, so you admit that these perverts represent a hazard to the community and to children in particular....what about the other 364 days out of the year?  Are you assuming that the community is safe on those days?  If not, then why do you allow these monsters to live in the area at all?"
