I can tell you I am not a big Talent fan. I contacted his office for support on dealing with a bureaucratic government agency and his staff was very unhelpful.

They said they would call back and never did on numerous occasions. I wrote to him and requested help twice and have not received any response in over 2 months. If you can't at least make an effort to help a Republican constituant during a tough election then something is wrong.

There are a lot of people here in Missouri fighting to defeat Amendment #2. An editorial in the Springfield News-Leader came out solidly against amendment #2. Of course St. Louis Post-Dispatch and Kansas City Star favor the amendment but that is to be expected from those two liberal fishwraps. Besides the Catholics the Baptists are working very hard in their churches to defeat this amendment too. So be of good cheer, it's not over until the fat lady sings.

I find your comment hard to believe. I contact Senator Talent all the time on line and with personal letters and I have always received a response.

And the others should shut-up and pitch, act or throw interceptions.

You can't throw interceptions when you've been benched!

What do you have in this amendment passing?

The Fox ad was a twisted perversion of what the amendment is allllll about.

MJ Fox should be ashamed of himself. He's GOT to know adult stem cell, if it'd work which is NOT proving to be an answer for his problem, would be his ONLY chance. The other stem cells through research are causing tumors...not working at all.

Besides, if he'd stop drinking diet sodas which is most likely why he's got the disease in the first place...aspartame is the culpirt...daily he'd drink gallons of diet soda...

While I understand that there is a moral objection to "embryonic" stem cell research, beyond that, what is the problem?

answer: Adult stem cell research is now permitted, even is Missouri.

Amendment 2 is reported to include legalizing CLONING and embrionic stem cell experimentation. Note Michael J. Fox's words "expanding stem cell research" I don't think he uses cloning or embrionic in the ad. Clonig is not legal now.

One for your collection...

"A small number of Parkinson's disease patients, like actor Michael J. Fox, first develop symptoms at a much younger age...It usually takes 12-14 years before a patient declines to the stage where drugs afford only limited benefit.

...Spain, where researchers working with monkeys extracted cells from a site near the carotid artery in the neck and transplanted them into the monkey's own brain, where they produced the key neuro-chemical dopamine at 35 times the rate of fetal cells. This raises the possibility of a Parkinson's patient being able to be his own donor, utilizing a group of cells with potentially far greater efficacy...

Parkinson's disease expert Dr. Mark Guttman of the University of Toronto points out that up to 3% of brain cells in a person's gray matter may actually be a form of neural-based stem cell. A pool of these cells can be extracted from brain tissue removed from humans for a variety of therapeutic reasons, then cultured, stored, and eventually encouraged to mature into dopamine-producing cells, suitable for transplant. -- "Media Sugarcoats Fetal Tissue Transplant Failure", Paul Ranalli, M.D.

It looks like Fox is purposefully misleading people, especially by not taking his medication while filming for a CAMPAIGN AD!

Wednesday, November 25, 1998

Last March Fox underwent a thalamotomy -- brain surgery aimed at managing the symptoms of Parkinson's disease. Since then, the worst of his tremors have been eliminated and he takes the drug Sinemet to control the milder tremors, he said.

What you need is someone with Parkinson's who opposes ESC research.
