Philadelphia, PA (LifeNews.com) -- Terri Schiavo's former husband Michael, the man who won court approval to subject her to a painful euthanasia death, has said he will not endorse either pro-life Sen. Rick Santorum or Democratic challenger Bob Casey in Pennsylvania's competitive Senate race.Schiavo made the announcement at a campaign stop for two pro-abortion Congressional candidates he said his political action committee has endorsed.
He indicated he couldn't support either candidate because both supported legislation that allowed Terri's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, to have a federal court review their lawsuit seeking to prevent Michael from killing Terri.
Santorum voted for the measure in the Senate and Casey said he would have voted for it as well.
Michael specifically criticized Santorum, calling him "the only U.S. senator who flew to Florida and interfered with Terri Schiavo's private family tragedy."
Santorum was in Florida during the 13 day starvation and dehydration death Terri endured and joined in a news conference indicating he supported the Schindler's efforts to help their daughter.
But Michael also singled out Casey for mentioning Terri's plight in his campaign.
"What gives Casey the right to use my wife's case against Santorum when he would have voted the same way," Schiavo said, according to an AP report. "That's a bad race. The choice is between bad and worse."
In the races for the House, Schiavo has endorsed Democrat Joe Sestak, who is challenging pro-life Republican Rep. Curt Weldon and Democrat Patrick Murphy who is taking on pro-life Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick. His political action committee, TerriPAC, gave both candidates $1,000.
Both Weldon and Murphy voted for the bill to help Terri's parents in their fight to save her life.
The donations and endorsements are the latest in a line of political endeavors Michael has engaged in since he ordered Terri's death. He has waged an intense battle against any lawmakers who supported her parents and has campaigned in Colorado, Connecticut and Florida.
Meanwhile, Terri's parents and family have worked full-time for their foundation which seeks to help disabled patients and their families obtain appropriate health care and treatment.

It's a sad world when someone's whose only qualification is convincing the state to kill his wife is considered "helpful" in a Senatorial campaign.

And that will come soon. May he be dead before Christmas 2008.

Good news for Santorum. Too bad it probably won't put him over the top. I can't believe that Pennsylvania voters are going to give the bum's rush to a man of Santorum's obvious quality. I was thinking of retiring there but may have to rethink that now.

The same hypocrites don't care over the pain of the fetus (and have suppressed evidence of it) and over Terri's pain.

In case you missed the new, Terri died feeling "euphoric" and had never looked so "beautiful." I wonder why we don't simply deprive death row inmates of food and water, that way they can have the same experience.
