We (Okie Freepers) are having a meeting about just that topic this weekend. Keep your ear to the ground and an eye on www.draftcoburn.com
c ya round.
Gee... maybe these unrelated cases should have been admitted as evidence, is that the problem?
I guess I'm having trouble with your point. Is it that all cops should be able to tamper with evidence and obstruct justice, or just the Border Patrol?
Before you fly off the handle at me... I'll grant that there's some stinky stuff about this case. Seems to me, though, that there's going to be an appeal and that's where due process should go at this point. If there really was something wrong that happened to these officers, and that's quite possible, it is still way premature to start howling about a pardon. There's other stuff to do first.
But from the sound of it, these two officers didn't do themselves any favors by trying to cover up their actions. That doesn't play well with juries-- and rightfully so.
There's miles to go before this case is done.
Yippee!!! I hope your meeting is successful and you help convince the good Dr. to run. I'll be watching. ;*)
Thanks for your civil post. My point in posting these unrelated stories is that if they were not here, the crimes would not have happened. Many of these illegals have been caught/commit crime several times and never sent back or done serious time. According to the ICE Border Protection Table of Offenses and Penalties, failure to report that a weapon was discharged in the line of duty is punishable by suspension for 5 days. Is it true that these officers were offered a 1 year plea bargain and if so, the sentences handed down are way too severe in my opiion. I like you, think there is more to this case then we know.
Agreed, this case was a sham from the beginning and should never have gotten this far.
"So that means over 400 House Members didn't sign."
Bills pass all the time with only one or two sponsers. Just because the whole house hasn't lined up doesn't mean a lot of them don't support pardoning these agents.
Or, maybe the other 400 Reps don't want to defend felons.
Thanks for cutting thru the agenda-driven smoke blown by several on this thread with s little good ol' fashioned perspective.
But I hope you aren't waiting for a relevent counterpoint - there won't be one.
I know, but that happens on forums
Hopefully overturned on appeal. Very sad.
I say give the entire U.S. Military a Pardon and authorize them to clean up Iran, Iraq and Syria. And then pardon himself and his administration.
Tell Harry "the RE investor" and Pelosi "the RE investor" to do something about it!
It is constitutionally allowed!
