I wouldn't expect any Border Agent to do their Job from here on out. Bingo. The convictions send that message loud and clear.

Fair enough. Talk of pardons is silly at this point. Pardoning people before the trial is not unheard of. Weinberger was pardoned before his case went to trial.

There were big problems with the jury instructions. Let them off.

Some border agents will quit over this, IMO.
And they should if they have no more respect for the law than these two did..... jmo, yours may very.

Yep - there's a whole lot more to this story than the kneejerk reactions we're seeing here.

Both men were convicted by a Texas jury for firing shots at the fleeing smuggler, who, they believed, carried a gun.Typical WND dishonesty.
The key convictions related to Obstruction of Justice, not the shots.

a plea by their attorney for a new trial after three jurors said they were coerced into voting guilty in the case.
You do know that's standard legal procedure, don't you?

It's front page news on Grassfire

Not only a pardon for the agents but the death penalty for the judge that sentenced them.

For another prespective you may want to read the following, then again maybe not.

Now to know really what went on in the trail we would need the trail transcript not heresay via the news media.... But there are differences and that is what the Appellate process will help clear up, hopefully.

That link is spewing BS, as well.
...who were each sentenced to decade long terms for apprehending an illegal drug smuggler.
Lie. That's not what they were convicted for.

makes you qonder who the other 9 jurors were and who picked them. At least 3 of them were honest enough to admit they were coerced. This should not have even been in the courts, The Drug Smuggling Illegal should have HAD NO RIGHTS HERE IN OUR COUNTRY. Reminds me of the story of the Arizona man eho lost his land and got 5 yrs for PROTECTING HIS PROPERTY. Our COURT SYSTEM has been HighJacked by CHICKEN LITTLE.

They didn't kill the guy and they did not know he had been hit cause he ran back across the border Is it common for police to just shoot at someone they ~think~ might have a gun, then after they guy gets away, to pick up shell casings and clean their guns and fail to report the incident?
That OK, huh?

I agree that they should get a medal for stopping the smuggler. Yet, their shots should have been about twelve to eighteen inches higher.
