Is Anyone Listening To the Melt Down by Andrew Sullivan on Hugh Hewitt??
10/25/06

Posted on 10/25/2006 4:27:15 PM PDT by MikeA

I can hardly believe what I'm hearing in this interview listening to how prickly and thin skinned Sullivan is in this interview with Hugh Hewitt currently on Hewitt's radio program and continuing until 5PM Pacific, 8PM Eastern for any interested in hearing it. He is so aggitated that Hewitt is asking him to account for the things he's written in his own book. The guy is arrogant, priggish, rude, boorish, defensive, paranoid and childish. He refuses to answer most questions instead trying to somehow turn it around on Hewitt to try to make Hewitt look like some sort of depraved Nazi.

Sullivan went so far as to compare himself to Christ and Hewitt to the Pharisees with his "trick questions" and calling Hewitt "pathetic." I've never seen a supposedly adult human being who presents himself as a serious scholar who handled some rigorous questioning of his work in a less mature and gracious manner than Sullivan is doing.

And of course he had to attack Hewitt's listeners as all a bunch of rubes who don't understand that America's government is secular, not Christian (though of course our laws have a Judeo-Christian basis.) I guess he's just another bitter gay man upset that the majority of Americans don't think marriage should be extended to people who want to marry among their own gender and that accounts for at least some of his defensiveness, not to mention a clear lack of confidence in the things he's written.

I guess Sullivan based on his embittered attacks on Republicans during this interview has become one of these condescending Libertarians who thinks they're so ideologically pure and everyone else a hopeless apostate. Now he's accusing Bush of "suspending liberty in this country" because the president, and the law, do not find Habeaus Corpus applies to enemy prisoners of war, much less illegal terrorist combatants. Earlier he accused Bush, and Hewitt, of advocating torture. Pathetic. I guess the "pure" conservative view according to Sullivan is to grant rights to terrorists never before granted POWs in any previous war. Sullivan is in short a fool and an idiot.

You can listen here to the feed from L.A. which is where I'm listening to it. It's a must-hear. Sullivan is utterly losing it and has been for 30 minutes straight.

Next to Muslims, militant gays have to be the touchiest people on earth. Along with liberals. If there were any militant gay liberal Muslims, the touchiness meter would be pinned in the red 24/7.

Andrew Sullivan: Just another in-your-face faggie.

Angry that the typical faggie corks off at 432.

I read Sullivan regularly for years, even checking his blog several times a day when I could, until about 1.5 to 2 years ago when, IMO, the wheels just came off of the man's proverbial wagon ... OH RIGHT AROUND THE TIME that Bush announced support for the FMA.

Every principled stand Sullivan had taken, it seemed, then went up for sale. He previously had taken a stand on "torture" similar to Charles Krauthammer's (namely, that in rare situations some inhumane treatment of persons known to have vital information that could save lives, may be permissible). But now? Never, ever, no matter what, no matter how many hundreds of thousands of lives might be spared by a belly-slap. Silliness.

It took me awhile, but eventually I realized that Sullivan has left the planet Relevance.

Do not go to his blogsite, even via others' links; you only give him ad revenue when you do. Turn your back.

According to this here Sullivan isn't even a citizen of this country.

Andrew is saying queers=blacks/women/minority. Which is foolish because all blacks are black, all women are women but not all men are queers.

Sullivan is and always has been a leftist pretending to be a conservative.

Now the self-righteous gay man is claiming we're unChristian for believing rigorous interrogations of terrorists is justified and is not "torture." So homosexuality which is specifically condemned in the Bible is okay, but the strong interrogation techniques that don't result in bodily injury is somehow against the Bible and "torture?"

And the idiot is saying habeaus corpus has been permanently suspended. LOL, so all of us who could be potentially arrested for crimes not related to terrorism or national security no longer have habeaus corpus protections?? This guy is a hysterical little queen. What a true fool.

Sullivan is exactly like all the queers I met down in the Houston Montrose area when I was a kid. It's all about him being queer. Push everything else aside, the bottom line is that he wants use to agree that being queer is natural and normal.

Sullivan needs to go back to the UK. He's getting his butt kicked by Hugh Hewitt. Which is something Sullivan does not have done to his rear often apparently. he usually reserves it for something else.

Sullivan has shaped his whole identity in his sexual activity...and this is what happens to people who center their egos on sexual appetites.

They are very aggressive and become very enraged when anyone tells them not to bother you with their sex. You are telling them to take their sexual thing private, but to them it is like you are telling them to go away because they are totally identified as their sexual activity.

In reality you could love Andrew in the fullness of his talents and many other qualities. But to Andrew, he is nothing but a sexual object and if you reject Andrew's sexual pleasure/identity, you have rejected him. That is why he melts down like this. It is quite common in adults who were sexually abused as children. I don't know if Andrew was abused or not.

I used to read Sullivan's blog on a regular basis, but he's a pathetic loony now. He's so wrapped up in his gay identity that he can't see straight (no pun intended), and ye gods how he has a hissy fit when someone challenges him. Vis a vis habeas corpus, I think Lincoln said it best: "More rogues than honest men find shelter behind habeas corpus."

Great post, pogo101. I actually used to be somewhat of a Sullivan fan. I also read his blog semi-regularly. I would stop what I was doing and listen if he appeared on a pundit show, ie, Chris Matthews, etc. You're right, though, as soon as Bush announced his support for the FMA and all the "gay marriage stuff" hit the television airwaves, Sullivan's views about everything seem to have changed drastically. He has gone really off the deep end. I no longer pay any attention to him nor read his blog...

I run a paper route in the early am, and I listen to Hugh Hewitt, Dennis Prager and Michael Medved (in that order). Best of all, NO COMMERCIALS! Just the time they are live. Each hour is about 35 minutes.
