Dixie Chicks Flick Is A Good One -- If Free (FR Mentioned)

Talk about cajones: FreeRepublic.com's Kristinn Taylor's got 'em. How so? the conservative website led the outcry against the once popular country band Dixie Chicks when singer Natalie Maines screeched how she hated that President Bush hailed from Texas. Well, last week at the Washington première of the Chicks' decidedly anti-Free Republic documentary, Shut Up and Sing, Taylor showed up. But he wasn't kicked out, reports our Elizabeth Green. The hosts at the lefty Center for American Progress invited him to join the group discussion, where he told the director the movie was a good one.
Why go? "This was a chance," he tells us, "to see it for free."

I want to know more about the FreeRepublic mailing list by which we get our marching orders. I keep asking my mailman but there's never anything from Command Headquarters in Fresno.

We don't get orders from Fresno. We get them directly from the Rovemeister himself. JimRob just does administrative stuff; he doesn't actually give out marching orders.
And you won't get your decoder ring until you get into the top 10 on a DUFU thread three times, or IB4P once.

You mean you haven't been wet-wired into Karl's MinionNet yet? It's great! I can simultaneously get talking points and marching orders from Karl, the Freemasons, the Elders of Zion, and the Bilderberg Group!

So THAT'S how that works. Man I've been hangin' around those Thon threads for a few years now wondering when the encoded talking points would be given. Now I know how to get on the good list. :-D
Good on ya Kristinn!

I'm using my Ovaltine Little Orphan Annie decoder ring to decode my daily marching orders that can be found in the secret threads posted here daily.
I've decoded the most recent one and it says, "dlpu cl vivitz snizzle doby." I haven't figured out what that means yet.

I was home flipping channels this afternoon before my cat nap and came across the Dick-see Chix on Oprah.
They were as unremorseful, unapologetic, without grace or class as ever. On top of that they had not a clue one about foriegn affairs.
Natalie Mains looks absolutly out of shape and homely and they were all wearing gobs of makeup and were dressed like truckstop whores.
the diksee chix are losers..... what a shame, the music was kinda cool I turned off the tube, plugged in a CD and cranked up the antidote....

against the once popular country band Dixie Chicks
I love these words 'ONCE POPULAR' mentioned in the same sentence as Dixie Twits. If the group would have just kept their mouth shut instead of slamming the President, they would still be selling out at their concerts. Now their concerts are being canceled due to 'lack of interest'. I like their music but when I pay to hear their music, I sure as hell don't pay for their political comments.

I would really appreciate it, KTM rider, that you wouldn't elevate the chicks to the same level as truck stop whores. As least when truck stop whores open their moths, they are doing something productive.

The Dixie Twits' new album is labeled "UNDERGROUND". Perfect title. They should go underground and hide forever. True Americans refuse to listen to their rederick (sp?). Why pay money to see them, when going to a Toby Keith concert or buying his cds are more worth the money and time.

Thanks for finding the video. I was wondering if/ when they were going to post the video of the discussion. There were some things I could have said and could have said better. I just went to watch the film because it was free. I was not planning on speaking, they asked me right before the film started and I said okay.

The pattern of cluelessness about FR is displayed once again in
the Center for American Progress' synopsis of the panel discussion when they make reference to "Christian Taylor":
Christian Taylor disagreed with most of these remarks. He denounced what he called the elitist attitudes expressed by the band, arguing that their criticism of President Bush does not appeal to the average country music fan. He also denied that the bands members received a disproportionate amount of criticism because of their gender. When his fellow bloggers [FR is NOT a blog, maddoggit!] were accused by audience members of bias, he said that politics has been rough and nasty well before FreeRepublic.com.

Karl's MinionNet Do you have to actually have "Minion" rating to get an account? I've been missing meetings lately and was downgraded to "Shill". (If I don't make by African-American voter suppression quota this November I'm apt to be dropped to "Dupe".)
