Am I the only one who longs for those days when political opponents would refer to each other as "my worthy opponent" "my learned and esteemed colleague and opponent" or at least in a civil manner?
Mud, Mud, Mud. Get's tiresome.

How is Allen exposing Webb's writing? Is he publishing some as yet unpublished works?
This would be a mistake in my opinion by Allen. Writers have leeway to write about human character.
To: cdnerds
Since a Republican is saying it, it must be "negative campaigning", hate speech, etc.

Nobody found that Webb has written a novel before? I remember Lynn Chenney also wrote a 'romantic' novel... I'm just wondering if it's a good idea to bring up underage sex scene today after stories about Foley fiasco start to disappear...

Bad move by Allen.
He should just stick to the issues instead of going into the gutter.
Reason #1,000 why he isn't presidential material.

Doesn't sound like George Allen's style.
This is the type of thing the campaign stays far away from.

If true this is dumb. Allen should be stressing the positive re his positions, not rooting through Webb's novels - which are pretty damn good, actually - for laughable excerpts. Frontrunners don't need to do desperate crap like this.
I'm sorry Webb's chosen to go over to the dark side, but that doesn't negate his talents as a writer, which are considerable.

Writers have leeway to write about human character.Yes, they do. But even the most decrepit of us would never even think of writing of a father sexually abusing his son in such a graphic manner. Jesus, I can't even think about it, let alone write about it.
