Blah, blah, blah. Story about how pork queen pelosi got the gubmint to issue a commemorative coin honoring the old San Francisco mint. Pelosi and Feinstein each struck one of the coins. Sales of the coins = more pork to turn the mint into a museum. Anyway, here are the pics:

btw, the SF Mint recently was in the news, it will be opening up again as a cultural museum after being closed for some time..

Other than the fact that Pelosi/Feinstein are there (which is a no-brainer since they represent San Francisco), I don't consider this coin pork at all. The SF mint is historical and should be honored on a coin.

Might as well. Coins are mostly commemorative anymore and most money is electronic--cultural evolution. To bad they won't let college chapels keep their crosses and stuff as cultural history exhibits.

I don't consider this coin pork at all. The SF mint is historical and should be honored on a coin.

But the point is the Federal money from the sale of the coin will go to the City of San Francisco for the museum. This is in addition to previous pork that Pelosi has already gotten out of the Fed for this:
