Its most likely because no matter how attractive a candidate she is, there is virtually no chance for her to win in a district which has been gerrymandered to be majority black and the supermajority of those blacks would vote for Saddam Hussein before they would vote for a Republican even if she was black. There are lots and lots of very attractive candidates who aren't getting money from the RNC this year and most years because they all can't be funded to the level that would make them happy. And, believe me, they ALL believe that the RNC money is the only thing standing between being in contention and total defeat.

If she dies in office, the governor names the replacement.
What if she merely steps down after the election?
The Indiana Democrat Party gets to name her replacement, don't they? I'm really not sure

Th e don't think the article said anything about prejudice. I think though it brings up a problem we face all the time. That is devoting money and resources in the black community and getting the4 black vote. Every two years they are promised and every two years like clockwork it doesnt happen. Not just canidiates but resources for white gopers and others to get the black vote in the community. There is nothing sinister about it but its the whole"where can we more bang for our buck" and "money is tight".
That being said the lack of doing that has had horrible results for the party and the nation
That is fascianting. I will have to check out the towns cemtetary. I was in Vicksburg a couple of weeks ago. I took time out to go the Military Park. Right beside it there is a JEwish Cemtetary I never knew existed. Its a shame that deep South Jewery is about dead.
