BERLIN -- Less than a week after he urged the German Army to play a more active role in resolving regional conflicts and fighting terrorism, Defense Minister Franz Josef Jung said Germany would begin as early as December to withdraw troops from Bosnia and Herzegovina, a former republic of Yugoslavia that was ravaged by civil war from 1992 to 1995. It is the first time Jung has publicly raised the idea of pulling out of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where an international force has kept peace for almost 11 years. Germany has 850 military personnel in the 6,200-member force, which the European Union has commanded since late 2004.
Over the weekend, voters in Serbia ratcheted up tensions over Kosovo, the Serbian province dominated by ethnic Albanians, by approving a constitution that reasserts that the region is an indelible part of Serbia. United Nations officials, who have run Kosovo since NATO went to war over it in 1999, will face the challenge of balancing that against strong Albanian demands for independence by year's end.
During presidential elections this month, voters elected Bosnia's wartime foreign minister, Haris Silajdzic, as the Muslim member of the three-member presidency. Silajdzic has already upset Western diplomats, and particularly the Croat and Serb communities, by threatening to dismantle the Bosnian-Croat federation, a delicately ethnically balanced structure established by the 1995 Dayton accords, which brought an end to the Bosnian war.

Do you figure that it will end out peacefully?
If Serbs and Croates are smart enough to devide Bosnia anong themselves thus erasing islamic state in Europe. Yes it can end peacefully.
This house of cards will crash with a bang if the "peacekeepers" leave. - Perhaps it should.
After all, isn't Europe always admonishing us arrogant Americans that you can't just impose Western style democracy on a people who don't want it?
The moslems will never allow such a division "peacefully."
americans just doing the job the euroweenies won't!!!
didn't clinto say the US would be out of kosovo and bosnia by Christmas....but did not say what century!!!
all of the balkans will become muzzie as the onslaught to invade and take over eurabia continues!!!!
Than, lets not ask them... Just do it.
Hey, you have my vote for that.
Touché! Although I am from Germany I have to admit that there is some thruth in that statement.
As I remember from history,
Rooselevt never asked Hitler :"Oh, Mr. Hitler, we are planing to land in nNormandy to liberate Europe from your psychotic nazi occupation, but we need your endorsment..."
Do we still have American troops in the Balkans?
I hope that was sarcasm...
Yep, USA have troopps protecting Muslim plans in balkans, in time of need when US troops are needed in Iraq to ... protect US troops from.. Muslims?
>we never hear about this in the press I thought they must be gone by now
The cold gaze of the media does not land on democrat President's actions or their consequences.
Carter/NK & Iran, Clinton/Balkans.
"Al-Qa'idah still has its cells in Bosnia-Hercegovina, and it will never leave this country. This is a statement that Bahraini Ali Ahmed Ali Hamad [name as received], a former Al-Qa'idah officer, has been repeating for years. Ali Hamad has been serving his sentence in the Zenica Correctional Centre since 1997....."
Yes, brilliant "success"!
