There's A Reason Howie Carr Called Him "Live Shot"(Kerry)

I apologize, in advance, for the vanity posting but, given the events of the last two days, I just have to get this off my chest:

As someone who grew up in Massachusetts, I have known of John Kerry for most of my life. He was Lt. Governor for a while and has served as Senator for many years now. It has been known, by Republicans and Democrats alike, that John Forbes Kerry is now, has always been and will always be an empty suit. Howie Carr, columnist for the Boston Herald and local radio host, labeled him "Live Shot" for his penchant self-promotion. The nickname stuck, again, on both sides of the aisle, because of his reputation as a Boston Brahman who considered political power and money as his birthright and what else is the media and the little people for but to promote and sustain his "legitimate" place in the world?

This whole thing about what he said about our military would be funny if the stakes weren't so high. That the Democrats have allowed him to promote himself at their expense would also be quite funny, again, were it not for the stakes involved. That a national party could repeatedly endorse, or at least not promote, this preening, pampered, egotistical, poseur, defies belief. All of this was known of Mr. Kerry and yet...here we are. People!!! THERE IS A REASON HE IS CALLED "LIVESHOT"!!!

Question: Kerry has effectively, IMHO, ended any chance for the 2008 Dem nomination...( BTW..George Allen has also shown himselof not ready for prime time on the national stage ).though Kerry may not yet know it..There have been some stories in the papers about how Kerry will be pressured to give running for his Senate seat if he persists is running for the WH..IOW, they won't let him do what Lieberman did in 2000. No doubt the Mass Dem congressional delegation, (all of whom aspire to the Senate) will be behind this...

MY questions...what are the filing dates to run for the Senate in 2008, and if Romney's WH campaign bombs early, have you heard any talkt hat he can be persuaded to go for the Senate..?

Howie Carr also recounts a number of instances when Kerry jumped to the front of a line for something -- fried clams for example -- saying "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?"

Kerry has truly finally jumped the shark. Sorry it took so long.

Howie didn't coin the moniker. He sez that when he was a TV reporter on Channel 56 that's what ALL the Boston TV crews used to call his Kerryness.

Speakin' of which, I'd love to see some wise ass put Anodyne Deval on the spot and ask his take on Kerry blunder.

The good news is that Kerry's national political career is officially over. I honest thought he was completely delusional when he first started to run. He only gets reelected in the PRM because of the persistence of the bad habits of the electorate.

In all likelihood, Kerry will never know it. I mean, yeah, he'll eventually realize that he isn't the president, but he'll never know why, and it will always be somebody else's fault: hijacked votes, evil Republicans, media frenzy, stupid, short-sighted voters who will not grant him his entitled place in government and history, et cetera ad infinitum. He will always believe he has a shot next time around because is not sufficiently self-aware to realize that he is a class-A schmendrick, and because he is unaware that objective reality may not be "spun," that reality is not just what one says it is in the latest press-release, and that people have memories that are not subject to his revision and reinterpretation (unless, apparently, they are Democratic people and are trained for doublethink and the use of the memory hole).
