True to form, Kerry blames others for gaffe
Boston Herald ^ | 2 November 2006 | Joe Fitzgerald

Posted on 11/01/2006 7:16:30 PM PST by Aussie Dasher

The most amazing thing about John Kerry is that anyone withhalf a brain would still take him half as seriously as he obviously takes himself.

If he’s not putting his foot in his mouth, he’s attempting to extract it, as he is again this morning, trying to blame everyone but himself for his outrageous defamation of America’s fighting forces, slurring them as unproficient, shallow-minded cannon fodder.

Appearing in California to ostensibly assist Phil Angelides, a Democratic candidate for governor, Kerry warmed up by suggesting George W. Bush used to live in Texas, “but now lives in a state of denial.”

Whatever happened to that American ideal of “the loyal opposition,” especially when the country is at war?

Is common decency too much to expect from Kerry? Or have the fires of his insatiable ambition consumed his common sense as well?

He has no one but himself to blame for this latest fiasco, which was pure blasphemy born of bitterness over losing to Bush in 2004.

Addressing students at Pasadena City College, he said, “You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”

Stuck with whom, Senator? All those losers, rejects and unenlightened simpletons who left their homes and loved ones not because of any sense of duty and honor, but because they screwed up in the classroom? Was that your point, senator?

The only one who screwed up here was Kerry, who’d be well-advised to do the right thing and admit it.

Humility, however, is not his strong suit.

I've lived in MA my whole life. We're not waking up. We're circling the bowl.

Someone up there needs to say something about their moronic junior Senator.

Even though their senior Senator is possibly worse.

When I heard that Hillary had blasted Kerry for his gaff, it seemed a little too convenient to me. It almost sounded as if Kerry was set up to be the stooge, so Hillary could sound reasoned, so moderate don't you know.

"Whatever happened to that American ideal of “the loyal opposition,” "

Oh they are loyal, but whatever the hell it is it is NOT America.

He never had any common sense. I would contend that it may have consumed his soul, but I doubt he every had one of those either.

Just watched a part of a rerun of Tony Snow's presser today.

The pressitutes are going out of their minds.

I love it tho. The dem campaign against our President has been stopped cold in it's tracks.

Kerry struck a nerve with the military, past and present. That amazing picture from the troops in Iraq has made it's way around the country, if not the world.

On average, those serving in the military are more highly educated than those who call themselves democrats.

From this point on, Hitlery is going to be in "I'm running in 2008" mode. This means the knifes are being sharpened and are are going jammed into peoples backs fast and furious. At any moment she will seize the spotlight or shank someone that could stand in her way.
Kerry has been one of her prime targets since 2003 when behind the scenes, she and the clintonistas worked hard to make sure Kerry didn't win the election. If he did, Hitlery would of had no chance in 2008. Now that Kerry has mentioned he might try to run for president again, Hitlery has her knifes out again and will use any oppurtunity to shank him and throw him under the bus.

One of the reporterettes asked Tony why should Kerry apologize when Rush hadn't apologized for what he said about MJFox. Tony politely reminded her that Rush wasn't a public figure. Besides Rush did apologize but the media could care less.

Maybe Massachusetts is finally waking up?

NAHHHHH.

Fitzy was a former sportswriter who has in recent years been the designated "conscience" of that paper. He writes local fluff stuff for the minor league Boston rag.

Truthfully, the herald is a much better paper than the globe, but nobody but the me will say so. It ain't PC you know.

Not easy for a paper such as the Boston Herald which has sunk so low in their ridiculous opposition to Mitt Romney that they can hardly be taken seriously.

Interestingly, just saw a preview of tonight's David Letterman Top Ten, which is about Kerry's gaffe... One of the lines has Kerry taking Mel Gibson's example and blaming it on the Jews...

I happen to think it's why this story has any legs at all in the media.

Every question at the presser seemed to be

"Why are you being so mean to Kerry?"
