Prosecutors Eye Ann Coulter Voting Probe
Conservative columnist Ann Coulter has refused to cooperate in an investigation into whether she voted in the wrong precinct, so the case will probably be turned over to prosecutors, Palm Beach County's elections chief said Wednesday.Elections Supervisor Arthur Anderson said his office has been looking into the matter for nearly nine months, and he would turn over the case to the state attorney's office by Friday.Coulter's attorney did not immediately return a call Wednesday. Nor did her publicist at her publisher, Crown Publishing.Knowingly voting in the wrong precinct is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison.Anderson's office received a complaint in February that Coulter voted in the wrong precinct during a Feb. 7 Palm Beach town council election.

>>Anderson, a Democrat, said a letter was sent to Coulter on March 27 requesting that she clarify her address for the voting records "or face the possibility of her voter registration being rescinded." Three more letters were sent to Coulter and her attorney, but she has yet to respond with the information requested, Anderson said.
In July, Anderson said, he received a letter from Coulter's attorney, Marcos Daniel Jimenez D'Clouet. The letter said the attorney would only discuss the matter in person or by telephone because, he complained, Anderson had given details to the media. Anderson said the matter had to be discussed in writing. <<
It is already happening .
Another Liberal D.A. is going after another conservative .

Nine months? Speedy due process going on.

No conservative should expect justice from Palm Beach County.
Stay away if you can.

That's right libs, put Ann Coulter back in the spotlight. That'll definitely work well for you. /s

This was a stinking "Town Council Election". If she voted in the wrong precinct, how did she do it and how did they even find out? She's pretty well known. The whole thing sounds like a farce.

She has more 'nads than most Congressional Republicans and will take it to the prosecutor and the Dims in general.
She can definitely handle herself and I believe her eventual response will be worth the wait.

The location of one's polling place, or the district from which you vote, is not the problem.
Voting in two or three locations on the SAME election day, or doing the same thing through absentee voting, is a serious problem, as it first overstates your individual importance, and secondly cancels out the honest vote of someone else who chose to play by the rules.

They often change precinct borders. If you're in the wrong precinct, they just won't have your name on the list, right? Maybe there are several Ann Coulters in Palm Beach County though. Sheesh. You think you've heard everything.

There is no law against voting in another precinct since polling places often change. If she was not on the voter registration book for that precinct but could prove she was who she said she was - photo ID, etc. - she could have filled out a provisional ballot. This happens quite often.
Isn't it funny that allowing illegals to vote doesn't bother liberals but allowing a conservative American a vote poses great problems for them?

Not a 'witch hunt', not yet, but this frivolous investigation is obviously for partisan reasons and those who brought it to the investigator's attention are certainly out to burn Ann !

I sincerely hope so ........
But Democrats got away with these investigations and prosecutions during the 1980's against the Reagan Administration .
This trend was started by Bobby Kennedy in the 1960's - -
using the power of the Attorney General's office to attack those he did not like . .

That's a lot different than what the title says.

But, because it is Ann Coulter.......they are going to try to put her away for as long as they can.

Actually a preview of things to come. If the Democrats take the White House they will make a big push to silence the right. Given a prosecutor with an agenda anyone can be indited. This election campaign also shows that you can find some one willing to come forth and falsely accuse virtually any target.
The Washington Post actually had someone of accusing George Allen of stealing his little brothers bike back when he was in high school or junior high.

Ann Coulter's attorney has been refusing to communicate with the DA's office for nine months.
BTW, she also gave out a strawman address (her real estate agent's).

In general, the precinct has a list of those designated for that precinct. If you're not on the list, you should vote by "challenge" ballot.
If the voting board puts you in the wrong precinct, and tells you to vote in that precinct (say, by mailing), and you vote there, whose fault is this?
I don't understand how one can vote, non-challenge, in the "wrong" precinct. But I'm slow on some of these things.

Yeah, it's a pain in the neck for me, too - it's a cute rule, though - of course the anti-Coulter rule is ghastly, that's where "Puppage" posts a pic at every mention of Helen Thomas.

I don't know the story, whether she accidentally voted in the wrong precinct or not -- and if so, how it happened. But it is sooo laughable that these people who wanted to change real votes AFTER THE FACT AND WITH NO DIRECT PROOF OTHER THAN DISLIKE FOR THE OUTCOME.... on the premise that "I accidentally voted for Pat Buchanan" and who also wanted to change the election laws to accomdate all sorts of "mistakes" by dumb voters....would go to these lengths over another simple mistake, if the mistake was even made.
