I think dim operatives within the gay community are outing as many gay Republicans, e.g., Foley, as possible in order to demoralize the evangelical voters. Its just a ploy to make Republicans look more like democrats.

wow. He now admits to doing crank and some massages. Sure it really doesn't matter except for the latent hypocracy of the mofo. He leads a church org with 30 million members, has enough juice to hobnob with the prez and have a weekly conference call to the oval office and is virulently anti gay and anti-gay marriage on all levels. Then of course it turns out he's a flamer and a druggie. Why do the one's that shout the loudest about their manhood always seem to be the ones who are light in their loafers?

"Talking to reporters outside his house Friday, Haggard denied the sex allegations but said that he did buy meth from the man because he was curious.

"I bought it for myself but never used it," he said. "I was tempted, but I never used it."

Riiiiiight!

God, that's pathetic! Got only a massage from a gay ho and bought meth but didn't "inhale".

Everyone is calling the accuser a low-life. There are two low-lifes here, the fag meth-ho and the lying, cheating adultering hypocrite.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
From New Life Church
Colorado Springs, Colorado

Rev. Ted Haggard, Senior Pastor of New Life Church, stated today that he could "not continue to minister under the cloud created by the accusations made on Denver talk radio this morning." He, therefore, placed himself on administrative leave, pending investigation, spiritual counsel, and a decision by the church's board of overseers.

Pastor Haggard said, "I am voluntarily stepping aside from leadership so that the overseer process can be allowed to proceed with integrity. I hope to be able to discuss this matter in more detail at a later date. In the interim, I will seek both spiritual advice and guidance." Under the governing structure of New Life Church, there is a board of overseers consisting of four senior pastors of other congregations. Those overseers have authority to conduct an inquiry, to discipline the senior pastor, to remove him from his position, or to restore him to ministry.

The overseers of New Life Church are: Rev. Larry Stockstill, Senior Pastor of Bethany World Prayer Center, in Baker, Louisiana; Rev. Mark Cowart, Senior Pastor of Church For All Nations in Colorado Springs; Rev. Tim Ralph, Senior Pastor of New Covenant Fellowship in Larkspur, Colorado; and Rev. Michael Ware, Senior Pastor of Victory Church in Westminister, Colorado.

In the interim, New Life Church Associate Senior Pastor, Rev. Ross Parsley, will serve as Acting Senior Pastor of the church. Rev. Parsley has served in senior ministry positions at New Life Church for fifteen years. Rev. Parsley requested the community's compassion and prayers for the person who came forward with accusations, for the Haggard family, and for the New Life Church community. He also said, "New Life Church long ago adopted an overseer model of governance for situations just like this. People need to be patient and allow this process to unfold as it was designed to do."

Pastor Haggard also resigned today as President of the National Association of Evangelicals.

Good observation, Darth. I'd say you hit the nail on the head.

What this really says is that the radical homosexual movement views Republicans as a threat to their agenda.

I don't think this is going to discourage Values Voters a bit.

I don't think this is going to discourage Values Voters a bit.

The GOP leadership is quite socially liberal on this matter. If it comes out that they don't care much about the normalization of homosexuality, that they don't bat an eye when they learn of sodomites in their ranks, it could hurt the party in the long run.

The GOP elite is pretty libertarian on such matters. Social liberalism helps fiscal conservatives present themselves as otherwise compassionate progressives who just like sound accounting. Those in leadership have gay friends whom they don't want to offend by pushing for issues that the GOP base wants.

Even their rising stars are enablers of the liberal agenda. I remember when I got an e-mail in 2002 from the Colorado University College Republicans group asking if any of us on the mailing list opposed gay marriage, because none of the officers did and somebody on campus wanted a debate. Though they were solicitous enough to seek an opposing view, rather than just demonizing conservatives, it made me think twice about those who really run the party.

If any of you are interested in finding out what the new head of the Christian Coalition, Joel Hunter, might have to say about the Haggard resignation, you may want to watch the live webstream of his sermon at 5PM today (Saturday). I would imagine he will have a comment.

Go here http://www.northlandcc.org/ and click on webstream worship in the featured links on the right side of the page. Then right click on the word "here" and click "open" at this hot link: View the Webstream here.

If you miss the live video today, you can catch it at one of the other times listed below:

As always, we invite you to join with us live at any of our seven, identical weekend services, as follows (all times are Eastern Standard):

Saturday afternoon at 5 p.m.
Sunday morning at 8:15, 9:30 and 11:15 a.m.

"....it made me think twice about those who really run the party."

Yes, they're called RINOS.

That's why more Christians need to step up to the plate and run for office.

If they can't do that, then they ought to support those who do support moral values and/or work to get those kind of people into office.

Since we're a country with the freedom to affect positive change it is our Christian responsibility. He who has the power to do good and does nothing, is a poor steward.
