BAGHDAD, Nov 5 (Reuters) - The judge presiding over the trial of Saddam Hussein and seven others on charges of crimes against humanity ejected former U.S. attorney general Ramsey Clark from the court on Sunday for insulting the tribunal.
Clark, who heads an international team of lawyers involved in the defence, was ejected at the start of a hearing at which Saddam and two aides were convicted and sentenced to death.
The judge, Raouf Abdul Rahman, ejected Clark because he had sent a memo to Abdul Rahman including the accusation that the tribunal was making "a mockery of justice".
The judge told him in Arabic: "No, you are the mockery ... get him out, out."
Abdul Rahman then shouted in English: "Out! Out!"
"You come from America and ridicule the Iraqi people," he said.
Clark had earlier said the trial was politically influenced, and that if Saddam were sentenced to death, it would be "victors' justice".

"Nobody... wants... to play with me..." *sniff*
"YOU are the mockery" - Classic.
What's the scoop on this guy? He's the son of a supreme court justice - Tom Clark, who agreed to step down in exchange for Ramsey becoming Attorney General during the Johnson administration. Soon after that he went kinda goofy, to say the least.
The judge should have found the old crackpot in contempt of court and sentenced him to 30 days--and made him spend it in the same cell with Saddamned.
It's hard to believe that old Bolshevik is still alive, but then again, the Devil takes care of his own.
I'd love to see a video of this exchange. Does one exist?
APf
I never realized he looks a tad like Randy Quaid.
This mornings thread said the Iraqi prosecutor is considering charging Clark for disrupting the court and insulting the judge.

Is there any other kind? What kind of "justice" is the Justice of the Conquered?
a "DEMOCRAT".
--unfortunately, he won't be going to the gallows with Saddam--
"What's the scoop on this guy? He's the son of a supreme court justice - Tom Clark, who agreed to step down[so Lyndon Johnson could appoint Thurgood Marshall to the supreme court] in exchange for Ramsey becoming Attorney General during the Johnson administration. [He was already around the bend] Soon after that he went kinda goofy, to say the least.
How many judges in America are going, "doh! why didn't I say that?"
I did not trust him way back then and nothing has changed my opinion since then.

Clark's pro-tyranny stance has been so consistent over the past 38 years that it actually embarrasses many leftists, though only in private (Lenin forbid that they would break solidarity in public).
Besides his work on behalf of Saddam, Castro, Chavez, and the North Vietnamese, he was Ayatollah Khomeini's personal lawyer during the embassy hostage taking in 1979, and has represented cult freak Lyndon LaRouche.
It has not always been so. During his tenure as LBJ's Attorney General, Clark presided over the original "COINTELPRO" program to harrass anti-war activists and was the legal brain behind many of LBJ's more questionable actions.
Most interestingly, he was AG at the time of the Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy assassinations in 1968, J. Edgar Hoover's boss for any practical purpose. Left-wing conspiracy theorists have implicated practically everyone who was in government at the time in the assassinations. They have even accused Richard Nixon, who was still a private citizen in 1968.
The notable exception to this avalanche of suspicion is also the most obvious suspect, Clark himself. Why does he get a pass from conspiracy buffs, beyond the simple loyalty of one depraved leftist for another?
This suggests a conspiracy hypothesis of my own: A major leftist, perhaps a journalist, somehow found the smoking gun of Clark's involvement before legitimate investigators did, and decided to use it to blackmail him into supporting "progressive" causes. Clark's u-turn to the far left started almost literally on the day he left office. Remember that many of the most prominent traitors in those days were quite young and they could easily be pulling Clark's strings to this day.
Maybe Clark's stupidly dogmatic anti-Americanism is really a strangled cry for help but the media themselves are too stupid, or complicit, to recognize it.
Contempt of court would have been appropriate for that contemptible old f*rt. He's done nothing but delay the course of justice in this trial.

About the time time of the VN anti-war movement there was this little drug going around. It was legal then.
It was called Osley after the one of the best producers (Stanley Osley).
Today it is called by the 1st letters of its chemical name - LSD.
Who knows if he tasted the dreams.
Clark and Quaid combined still don't amount to the iq of a pencil eraser.
LOL! That's priceless!
Look at the caption - they are calling it a "U.S. sponsored court."
Must be some place on earth he is welcome. Can't think of it right now.
A double hanging on Pay-per-view could sure help the U.S. cover the cost of the Iraq war. Ramsey's demise would be no big loss. It would probably make the world "a better place."
Looking forward to seeing those giant headlines at the NYT.
justice would be finding Ramsey Clarke in a Baghdad ditch
Justice would be putting razor blades inside the rope so Saddam could be hung and beheaded simultaneously. Ramsey should be left alive until he can't care for himself, then a few years longer.
What a idiot
Interesting theory- it is quite a departure going from prosecuting the Boston Five (Benjamin Spock, William Sloan Coffin, etc) for anti-war activities to founding A.N.S.W.E.R. .
This judge has more moxy than most American journalists who cover Clark, that hatefilled piece of filth.
In other news, Hell is expected to freeze over soon.
The headline I'd like to see:
United States ejects Ramsey Clark
Or...
Human race ejects Ramsey Clark
Would ya just look at that tired old marxist ambulance chaser? Crawling off like a whipped dog to his next briefing with Soros.
J. Edgar didn't have a boss. That's because he had files on everybody, including Clark.
The fact he was a General in any way, shape, manner, or form, should scare the wits out anyone! With the exception of his well known'Friends'.He had a TOP SECRET clearence also.Very scary person.
He is an AmerINO.
"...former U.S. attorney general Ramsey Clark..."
I nominate that this standard biographic phrase included in all stories about his repulsive antics be corrected to describe him as
"...Democrat and former U.S. attorney general Ramsey Clark..."
A man deserving of an unmarked grave...
Respectfully, I disagree.
The more likely case is that he was simply a "sleeper".
It might be more than interesting to read his FBI file, might'nt it?
.
Ramsey Clark is the reason that NO democrat should ever be elected president!

That's another good possibility. He was definitely a red diaper baby. His father, Supreme Court Justice Tom Clark, was a noted liberal, leaning toward the far left. Harry Truman is said to have remarked that appointing the elder Clark to the Court was the worst mistake he ever made.
Yep former Attorney General too. I guess we are not allowed to mention which party though, wouldn't be appropriate.
If only America could do the same.
