Here's the thing. If the Dems win the House and Senate, the pre-election claim that a vote for Dems would "send a message" to the WH regarding spending and Iraq would disappear, replaced by the clear interpretation of the results as repudiation of WH position on Iraq. If the Dems win House and Senate, Sen. Lieberman (D-CT) will be so marginalized he wouldn't be able to buy his way onto the Today Show set.

Matthews is a Tim Russert wannabe and tries to slide by by interrupting and fast talking his guests.I'm not as big a fan of Russert as are many conservatives, but Matthews isn't a Russert wannabe, he's a neverwillbe. That is, unless, Russert becomes a meth addict, talks double speed, and makes about as much sense as one.
