If you were the leader of a labor union, how would you accomplish that goal?

I would quit attacking the source of my income, the company, and see them as a partner in a global marketplace that I have to work with, not against. I would keep a close eye on that particular point at which it becomes a better deal for the company to move operations elsewhere...and I would not push past that point.

The only organized labor with political influence are the public employee unions. These should be outlawed and there were laws preventing public employees from lobbying because their income was from taxpayers and the legal thinking was it was uncomely for public officials to use tax dollars to petition for more tax dollars.

This includes the NEA, the locals Fire and Police, the Postal Service (then fully public), and all other public employee unions.

Today, these are the only unions that have political clout, yet they have no on the job issues, have better retirement benefits than social security, better health care than you or I (assuming you work for a commercial enterprise) and so on.

Parity is past. It is time for the workers in the economy to have parity with the public employees.

Elect republicans and insist on disbanding public unions!

"The 'RATS are the union's best hope for a Communist Amerika. It ain't going to happen with Republicans running the country."

What IS going to happen with "Republicans running the country"?

What have they done about the illegal alien invasion? The Kelo decision? ANWR and offshore drilling? The exportation of skilled jobs? Etc.

Instead of bashing the many hard working and loyal Americans who are members of unions, the political right would do well to hear their views and work to gain their support.

I've got a brother-in-law who is a big union guy. I've heard all their "views" a million times. And I've suffered through that goofy Michael Moore union movie a hundred times when the wife wanted to visit her sister. I need a break. Let someone else listen.

OK, we know which side of the table you belong on.

There is only one side to the table.

I said that the political right should listen, not the political prisoners.

"There is only one side to the table."

Not exactly, as Walmart and others are finding out.

Exporting jobs worked as long as there was still plenty of credit to keep the buying spree going. Now that is drying up fast and the question is...who are the multinational companies going to market their goods to? The cheap labor that is making them? And yes, I'm aware that Walmart has stores in China, but if the Chinese boom loses steam because of reduced demand from exhausted Western markets, then what will happen to the buying power of the Chinese?

Yup, the unions are the commie hope, if they can't con the entire population into voting them in, then they cripple the productive part of the economy until we have third world conditions and they try again.

The problem for the unions is that the US economy, as restricted as it is, is still too much for them, EXCEPT for the non-producer unions. That's right, the public employee unions. The perfect group for the new unions, the group whose product or service no one wants or needs, the best paid and benefited of all. There's the danger, public servants have become public masters and their union bosses are the worst of all.

American labor unions are actually miniature versions of the larger Union in which they exist.

They want the minimum wage raised.

Yes, they do.

The important part of economics is not the minimum wage, but whether a system is sustainable. Business must earn a profit or it goes away. The jobs go away with it. Workers can keep getting raises if they keep productivity up, if they increase productivity, they can get even more salary. That is sustainable. Mandatory wage levels are not sustainable if they cause costs to exceed returns, then ALL the wages go away not just the above minimum ones.

The communist trick is to move the economy to unsustainability and then the dirt poor will vote to get a government job. Of course the new government job is slavery, they're just not told that. The communist minimum wage is slavery, and that is the minimum wage the commie union bosses are really promoting.

Uh, we have been reaching out to them, by cutting taxes, promoting traditional values & stuff, but we get called evil cretins by your friends in the DNC and union bosses.

Unions need to die, period.

Two credos:

1. Look for the Union label...and BUY SOMETHING ELSE!

2. Happiness is...a union thug getting cracked on the head by a billy club.

Unions are not "right wing" in any sense of the word. Let them die the slow death that they deserve.

What have they done about the illegal alien invasion?

Border bill signed; 700 miles of fencing approved. House Republicans oppose amnesty.

The Kelo decision?

Republicans DENOUNCED the decision. Local & state communities are taking the lead on this issue

ANWR and offshore drilling?

Thank the Rat obstruction

The exportation of skilled jobs?

Blame the government policies and not the corporations.
