Democrat Harold Ford Jr. looked for votes in his opponent's hometown Monday while Republican Bob Corker planned to visit every major Tennessee city on the last full day before the election.
Ford started his day meeting with Chattanooga public works employees in the city where his opponent was mayor until last year.
He vowed to improve health care for working people, and then declared: "Let's go beat this little guy!" - a reference to Corker's height, which Corker says is 5-feet-6 1/2 inches.
Corker campaigned with Sens. John McCain of Arizona, Saxby Chambliss of Georgia and Bill Frist and Lamar Alexander.
"They represent the values of this state," Corker said of the Republican senators. "They represent the way this state wants to see our country go."
Ford, a five-term Memphis congressman, and Corker, a former construction company executive, are vying to replace retiring Sen. Bill Frist.

I really disliked Corker during the primaries, yet he has shown great discipline in his run against Punk Ford.
Gov. Bredesen was the only Democrat worth voting for this year.

I don't know how many of you noticed but in the Corker/Ford debates, and also when Ford made his "surprise" appearance at Corker's press conference outside, Ford would always get up close to Corker real fast and hover over him, to show up the difference in their heights. Ford always moves over to Corker's side very fast, and then looks literally down on him, in a patronizing manner (you short person you, look at tall me everyone). It really ticked me off every time he did this. Well, he's about to be cut down to size, Ford is. And "shortie" Corker is about to have the last laugh.
Will be fun to see who the big man is in Tenn. after ford loses.

I was going to vote for Bredesen until he endorsed Ford. I cancelled my wife's vote just because of that.

Notice how the writer doesn't denote Corker's political experience (mayor of, I believe, Chatanooga) but instead is a "former construction company executive." Kind of like how the liberal media loved to call Tom Delay a former bug exterminator.
