Posted on 11/07/2006 2:08:05 AM PST by CWW
Please post your election news/reports here!!
It's 4:00 a.m. in Alabama, and I'm heading to a rural county as the GOP ballot security attorney.
It doesn't get more American than this!!
GOD SPEED, GOP!!
Already voted by absentee ballot!
Good for you!! Drive safely and happy voting. We are so lucky to live in this country.
I predict a race riot in Memphis this P.M.
Outstanding! It's going to be a long day and then a long night!
It's dark here too but at 6 I am off to work the polls which is always an interesting experience. We are using the new Diebold machines which I love. It beats counting paper ballots!! In the primaries, we only had a couple of people that complained but those people ALWAYS complain!
Good luck to everyone...Go Repubicans!! Especially Conservatives!
AND call everyone you know (Repubs only) and make sure they vote!!
Thanks!! There's a lot riding on this election!
Hey, this is just as accurate as any poll by CNN or quoted by Chris Matthews.
I'm up early to practice my "bwa ha ha haaas" for tonight.
It's 4:21 CST here in NE TX. I am getting ready to go be an election clerk. Marking my place for tonight - it will be after 8 before I get back.
So, what's your prediction of how big Junior will lose by ? I think it may be around 8 pts. No doubt the folks there in Fordville won't be too happy to see Junior go down in flames and his House replacement will be the first Caucasian rodent leftist sent from the 9th since George Grider's single term 42 years ago... and a Jew to boot ! Oh, the humanity ! ;-)
Off to watch the polls for Jim Gerlach here in PA 6. Let's see if we can't bring it home for him. And while we're at it, maybe we can drag Santorum across the line, too. Let's have the leftists crying in their wine spritzers tonight!
Voted absentee weeks ago!
Happy voting, FReepers! Let's show those D's what we're made of!
I asked "what day is tomorrow?" One child said it is electon day. I asked what/who were up for election? Mayor is up in that town. They knew gov was up. 3 names were mentioned - Perry (they knew he was the incumbent), Leghorn Strayhorn (they knew her current last name), and Bell. The one who named Bell asked why did it matter if you voted.
Wow, I hope you gave them some good reasons. Our kids need to have it ingrained in their heads to vote every election.
I just hope that the margin is huge enough to keep the Ford's from screaming racism. You know that it is coming no matter who wins as sure as the sun will rise in the East this morning.
I am praying for y'all!!!!!
One would think after the debacles in exit polls in 2000, 02, and 04, that most people would be on to the libs and drive medias tricks, but I'm guessing there will be some on FR who will go into "panic" mode, be they either naive or DUmmie moles.
Okay, I'll bite....
Why not make this breaking news election 2006 live thread?
Yeah, they're gonna scream racism regardless. Of course you never heard a peep out of the media when Rev. Maurice Dawkins, Gary Franks, or Marvin Bailey Scott lost their Senate runs in 1988, 1998, and 2004 respectively. It's because all 3 were Black Republicans, and the media didn't indict the people of Virginia, Connecticut & Indiana for being racists because they chose to ignore these candidates even existed. Now whom are the real racists ?
2007 -- Blanco's going DOWN, Bay-BEE !!!! ;-D
5:15 here. Just saw hubby off to be the chief judge at our precinct.
I am going to vote later today and will let you know how it's going. We live in a heavy dem precinct.
Needless to say, I did, as I know their regular teacher does, too.
Wow. I didn't see it.
I won't make it to the polls until about 5:30 or 6:00 this evening; hope they're still open for me.
Heading out to the polls in about one hour. I called all my brothers and sisters to remind them to vote. That makes 7 votes for the R'. Six of the votes going to the R's in Jersey.
6 am here in Marietta, Ga. I will be walking across the street to my polling location in just a few minutes. It's raining here, so I don't expect any dims to be there ....... at least not until they get up at the crack of noon. I will report back in before I head to work.
Magnificent, I am going early to meet Rush there.
Just got back from voting with bmwcyle, my husband. We got in line at 5:40am, were #2 and #3 in line....good thing were weren't late!
Lots of cars when we left but everyone is trying to get in before leaving for work. Polls are open 6am - 7pm here in Virginia. Sure hope things are busy all day.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU!
Even here across the sea there are many that hope you'll carry the day and will see off the Dem challenge.
Neighbor fixed breakfast for poll workers/judges and early voters in neighborhood.
Mostly Dems, as is my neighbor, a few Repubs. No election talk -- prayer of Thanksgiving for our freedom to vote, plea for temperate minds whatever the outcome with no bitterness or hatred for the winners or gloating and derision towards the losers.
Thank you troops for guarding us night and day.
That's not bad for 5th graders. Knowing the names is important, but knowing why you vote is so much MORE important.
I'm almost always out of town at a conference for election day and this year is no exception. In 2000 I was in San Francisco (ugh). I'm heading to the airport in a few minutes as I head to New Orleans for the largest convention held there since Katrina. I'll be back here tonight to join you all! The hotel does not get Fox News. :-(
I told them to be sure and register when they were old enoough, and that I hoped their parents voted on Tuesday.
I am off to work as a poll machine operator. Our precenct is pretty mych a swing precenct. As it goes so goes the state, usually. The Rats will carry West Tennessee and the Repubs will carry East Tennessee. It is Middle Tennessee which determines who will carry the state and that is where I am. I will post the results of our precenct as soon as I get home. Probably around 8:00 PM. The good news is that it is raining steady here and is suppose to keep it up all day. GOTV. Our lives depend on it.
what a laxative this thread will be
Republicans vote today, Democrats tomorrow.
From Singapore, our prayers are with you in the US, that you may all vote today and assist in the GOTV!
Believe me, the world needs a GOP Win!!!!!
From the UK - good luck and God speed!
The stakes today are as high as they have ever been. The Democrats have thrown up a miasma of lies and deceit for so long that it's hard to imagine a world untainted by their misery and their hateful lust for power. But I am positive that the common decency of the American citizen will prevail.
I'm making a tagline out of that. Thanks Ivan.
Just got back. I was 4th in line....ID, verification form filled out.....on to the Diebold. Voted straight GOP, and even wrote myself in for one of the judge seats, as I didn't like the incumbant. There were probably 30 people there when the polls opened. I walked away with a good, hopeful sense about the outcome. It's now going to be a loooooooooong day.
