ANNOUNCEMENT: MT & VA Turnout Report from Carl Cameron
Fox News | 11/7/2006 | Self

Posted on 11/07/2006 4:23:41 PM PST by katieanna

As I type, Carl Cameron has just completed a live report on FNC in which he reported he just finished a phone call with GOPers who say that turnout in Virginia has far surpassed 2004 turnout. Montana, he reported, is seeing GOP turnout higher than 2004 also.

Cameron reported high numbers of black voters in Maryland crossed party lines and voted from Steele.

GOP turnout in PA's 15th Congressional running close to 2004, according to a poll working friend I spoke to this evening. Santorum will need GOP turnout at this level to win.

Another reporter on Fox just said that in a heavily GOP district in Ohio, Jean's district, that turnout was supposedly low, which could bode poorly for her.

No, I do not believe so. Cameron said he had just gotten off the phone with GOP operatives on the ground in various precints.

Needless to say, if you have not voted, get to the precinct now! Texas polls are open another 32 minutes.

I'm a Virginian and live in a red district (I am a Democrat, however, as my site name implies).

There were people lined up when the polls opened this morning at 6:00 and there was a line when I voted shortly thereafter. It's going to be a big turnout.

I'll add to this that turnout in my precinct and ward in Massachusetts was, at the time I voted at 1530 EST, significantly below 2004 or even 2002.

The impression I had was that the foregone conclusion of a Deval Patrick victory demoralized people. Outside the doors, a small army of menacing union goons held Patrick signs. The cops there were cordial to the goons, not the voters (their union has endorsed Patrick, who has promised tax hikes and raises -- as well as a mass amnesty for convicts, which should add up to full employment for cops for decades to come).

It will be a very bad election for Republicans here. Most Republicans have done what I am doing -- exit. This will be my last vote in the Welfare State aka The Gay State. The Mallomar queens and the other kind of queens can have it.
