Next shoe to fall in Bush WH: John Bolton as US-UN ambassador?... Developing...
YIKES!! NOOOOO NOT THE STACHE!! Jeeze!
I will lay a bet that John Bolton is removed from the UN....remember the libs don't like him....
Wouldn't be shock, would it?
That shoe can't fall. He's out in a month if the Senate doesn't confirm him.
So unless Chafee throws Bush a bone and lets him out of committee, Bolton is gone.
This is depressing!
Bolton is a recess appointment, which means he is out in January. No need to resign.
I'm gonna puke...
Bush needs to fight for something. This would be a good start.
Oh God. Un freakin believable.
Libs hate him but they would be retarded to get get rid of him, well... I guess he better start packing...
Bet on it. No way in hell he'll ever be confirmed.
Y'all can thank God that I'm not the President. After this election, I would have set up a mass resignation of the entire administration immediately after Pelosi becomes speaker--just hand her the football, and say "Lotsa luck, Nancy, and F*** YOU AMERICA!" If America wants liberalism that badly, by God, I say let them have as much of it as they can stand.
Yeah, lets just give away the store, shall we? Anything that HURTS America, the rats will try & push, IMHO.
God help us
So help me, if Bush nominates some lame Bush-41 rehash for UN Amb., I will ... scream and punch my pillow really, really hard.
I HATE today. Bolton, Rummy. This is really going to hurt.
And that would be the last of the GOP for many decades.
Ah, geez, things could not have been more bleak and you had to remind me of something I had not even thought of.
You are right. Bolton will be gone by the end of the year and the Dhimis will get to choose who they want--maybe even Bill?
Sadly it appears that W is in a conciliatory mood and will cave on just about everything, including this.
Think I need to have an adult beverage even if its only the middle of the day.
Is Chafee that much of a jerk to screw bush over and not let Chaffe out of committee? My guess is he is.
Well, now, isn't that special?
Bush got the message from the voters loud and clear.
I hope it was the message they intended to send.
Chafee is gone...
Looks like the Rats are using their political capital already.
So...you done anything to help the guy lately, or just stabbed him in the back and hope he gets the message?
NO, D&*( it! (I'm beginning to think pitchfork and rocks here)
The week of the long knifes begins.
Bush needs to give him a different title, recess appoint him, and let him serve in the position. Or, name me as recess appointee, Bolton as my assistant, and I will step out of the way and let him do the job.
"Y'all can thank God that I'm not the President." I think I will. The President is still the sworn chief executive of the United States. I assume he'll continue to take his oath seriously and not succumb to childish temper tantrums.
I smell Carl Rove in the background: taking away the low-hanging fruit from the dems before they take power.
...from the next Senate.
A coup dÉtat
Damn, it must be stopped.
Send Santorum over there...
John Bolton is the single best figure in the Bush Administration. The only acceptable excuse for Bolton leaving is that he genuinely wants to leave -- and only if President Bush then nomimates someone just like him.
Hell, son, I just figured out that the America I thought I knew has been dead for almost 40 years. The corpse is still twitching, that's all.
The traitorous rabble known as "the American electorate" voted to stab the troops in the back for the second time in a generation. As for me and my house, we're getting out of the "defending America" business as rapidly as possible while staying within the letter of the law, and we're getting the hell away from major cities. Want to see the future? Reread Pat Frank's "Alas, Babylon."
There's still 2 months before the new Senate takes office.
That's two months to push Bolton to the floor, and see if the democrats filibuster to push him to the next senate (they probably will, but given he hasn't done so bad, maybe they don't need to play politics with him now that they won).
Anyway, he could be put in a non-confirmable slot and left as "acting" ambassador until we find another guy, maybe Ric Santorum, to do the job.
Uhh, how do you know Bush won't just recess appoint him again?
The Rats don't have anything on Bush other than he has to go with confirmations he can get with them in power. I'm sure the Rats have already handed Bush the list of who they want gone and who they will or won't confirm.
That might be cathartic, but it wouldn't be very constructive. :p
It will happen. He was a recess appointment and his term will be done when the newly elected Congress is in session.
If you want to send a message, write a flipping email!
If President Bush could not carry a simple UN Ambassador nomination, with a full Republican majority, then the results in the next few months will be well deserved.
We fought very hard for the Republican party since 1994, only to have it "pissed away" when they were granted the opportunity to make real changes.
Perhaps this is a good thing, as a reminder for the Republican party as to who they were working for.
Personally, if you want to know why I am so upset with the "party of limited government", simply visit your local major airport.
Can't do that twice.
Ironically, this "part" is making me madder than losing the House and Senate.
If he did, it would have been Rove who was gone!
Anyone got a pic of W wearing a skirt?
It will get a lot of use in next couple of years to hide the fact that he does NOT have a "pair."
Bush "FIGHTING?" Never going to happen. Its going to worse than before with everyone sitting around singing Kumbaya and we will get more (didn't you see the news conference?) "LET'S ALL GO ALONG TO GITT ALONG."
My advice to you: Start drinking heavily.
(Apologies to Animal House)
Not for the next two months he isn't.
There's nothing constructive to be done as long as the American electorate stabs our warriors in the back.
Last time this happened ended up with Saigon falling, and I wanted to die. I was in the ICU at the time, so it damn near happened.
Send no one over there. Announce that we are beginning the move to fiscal responsibility by ending all payments to the UN.
Why could he not recess appointment him again?
